Fantasy Without Nonsense
5By Level 20 FighterThe books grew and matured with both their audience and their author. They start as a serious yet still young adult coming of age story, and grow more “real” with each addition to the series. Though this collection doesn’t include Murtaugh (the most recent addition to this world), it’s a perfect example of how real, raw, and tragic the themes and events have become. Christopher Paolini’s world is detailed and woven with mysteries that he often calls back to later. Passive moments that one would think nothing of become “ahhhh” moments quite frequently, either in the same book or across them as a whole. Again, Murtaugh is a perfect example of such moments being mentioned in the original four books as seemingly passive cryptic lore, only to come full circle and make perfect sense; Christopher Paolini clearly is very passionate about his creation and thorough in his craft. The magic system is probably the best, most logical system ever written. The cultures, religions, histories, and languages are all original and unique. The epic battles are well choreographed through narration so you can really picture the characters dance in your head. They’re also often very realistic, as far as fantasy adventure goes, in that a given character’s injuries are detailed and one can almost feel the pain as a blade might go through skin, muscle, and scrape along bone. The politics are very much so like a game of 3D chess, binding and endangering characters in ways not physical. Finally, what I like most is the no-nonsense way that the storytelling gets delivered. Some authors might try to force a sense of maturity with adult language, nudity, and other indulgences. I personally find those antics as oftentimes forced and counterproductive, resulting in a cringeworthy series seemingly written by an adult with the underdeveloped mind of a teenager. This series delivers such moments tastefully. What needs to be said is said, but never is it lingered upon, relied upon, or forced upon the audience. The only complaint truly I have with the series as a whole is the absolute tease that is the romance. Without spoiling events, let’s just say that such tender moments never seem to quite satisfy. All in all my favorite book series. 18/10 ingots of brightsteel.Books
5By Sebrina Isabella ThompsonThis was always a great pleasure reading! The books were full of excitement, tears, and most of all humor in many parts. Wish it would go on to many more volumes!Fantastic and nostalgic
5By JGWENTWORTH1877My heart broke at the ending personally, I would love if there was a reboot to the series like how Boruto is to Naruto.Arya is awesome!!
5By WarmWind from ShadowClanOkay this going to be a long, long review. So I’m a total Swiftie but that’s irrelevant. I’m only ten\eleven but I listened to the whole series on audiobook (cds!) and loved it. Then I read the books. When my classmates saw me walk in with Brisingr they pretended to faint. Arya’s my favorite character and I hate Galbatorix. I also like Katrina and Roran’s relationship. Horst is also cool. Also see me on Keeper Of The Lost Cities, Wings Of Fire, The Land Of Stories, My Brother Sam Is Dead, Tiger Lily, Hunger Games, And The Hill We Climb. ERAGON + ARYA = ERAYA RORAN + KATRINA = RORINA SOPHIE + KEEFE = SOKEEFEBest series I’ve ever read
5By Southeast 78The story is captivating, twists and turns. The first book is full of details, so if you have a problem with it not being fast trust me keep readingLove this series but
4By ellen12marieThis ebook definitely was poorly edited. Formatting errors and typos are noticeable. Currently at 32% read (this go around anyway!) and I have found several, which prompted this review. My life feels empty after finishing this series
5By FlyByBookA friend of mine recommended this series and I loved every page. The characters and times were believable and I always was left waiting for more. This book series makes Harry Potter look like child’s play. I recommend this series to everyone. AmazingNostalgia trip? Not quite
5By MrRiggerWhen I first read these books, I was in 8th grade. I fell in love with the series back then but moved on to different things. I reread them these past few weeks and I have to say, this book series is even better than I remember. Every scene is so detailed I can imagine it as if I was there. This is a must read for any fantasy lover such as myself.Amazing!!!
5By reddam familyThis book series is my all time favorite however I think the ending could use some work. Every night I go to bed wondering about itBest Book Series I’ve ever read
5By SavageSarahBearI would actually cut off my left leg to get an accurate tv series or open world game of these books. There has been nothing that has even come close to capturing my attention and made me want to live in a fantasy world like the Inheritance Cycle does. I still re read it once a in a while. The movie is not at all an accurate representation of this story.A great story and sore ending
5By jjtrey1Paolini crafts a beautiful world, history, and story in the Inheritance cycle. It captivates and fulfills all the demands for a timeless fantasy. My only qualm with the Inheritance cycle is the ending. Paolini writes a touching and meaningful ending, reminiscent of Tolkien’s end to LOTR. However, the sensation I’m left with after it’s initial taste is being unfulfilled. I don’t think the ending is entirely true to Eragon or the magical world Paolini created, particularly the ability of the magic in that world. Nonetheless, the Inheritance cycle is a beautiful series and well worth a read and wondrous pondering on fantasy. What an Epic tale!
5By ElmerElmThese books are great! You can really see the authors growth from the first books to the last two. I really enjoy these the characters are full of life and there’s lots of wonderful adventures to pardon. There’s also a few turns and tricks that really keep the rear involved. I hope you enjoy these books as much as I have and please forgive the terrible movie they made I really wish they would remake Eragon and the other three books into movies.Good series
5By Ashleigh6599Best series I’ve read in a long time.Awesome

5By LilippaddMy favorite book series. I started it as a teenager and then lacked the immaturity to finish the last book. Now as an adult finishing it, it makes me sad to know it’s over and also has given me a closure.Truly amazing
5By 🐲🐉DRAGON LOVER🐉🐲I’ve never really been into reading much at all, but I absolutely LOVE the Eragon book series! Definitely my favorite over the Harry Potter series and Twilight Saga. Definitely worth the buy and time.Epic start to finish
