Description

A well-known criminal lawyer is found dead in a back alley in St. Thomas, and Cindy and Mattheus are called in to investigate by the grieving widow. The local police have pinned her for the murder, and Cindy and Mattheus are her last hope in vindication.
As Cindy and Mattheus dig deeper into the victim’s past, they learn that all was not as rosy as it seemed. They discover mistresses, gambling debts, vendettas, and a number of people who had motivation to want him dead. Most shocking of all, as they dig even deeper, they discover a whole secret life that he lead, one so lurid that the people who knew him best can hardly even conceive it.
As a hurricane closes in and the police are insistent, despite all evidence, to arrest the widow, Cindy and Mattheus find themselves in a race against time to find the killer. When another body turns up, all involved realize the stakes may be even higher than they seem. And as Cindy and Mattheus develop feelings for each other, each grieving from the death of their own spouse, Cindy comes to realize there is even more at stake than she thinks.
DEATH BY MARRIAGE is Book #3 in the Caribbean Murder series, following DEATH BY HONEYMOON (Book #1) and DEATH BY DIVORCE (Book #2).

    Quick and engaging read

Fortunately this book was free because it was awful. It was amateurish, shallow, and a grammatical mess. She takes half as long to solve a complex case as a good writer would by leaving out a huge amount of important detail. Don't waste your time with it.

Loved the story, with the twists and turns. Still needs a better editor. I'm not an English major, but was put off by the grammar errors.

This book was pretty good. You have to look past all the grammar mistakes. These books should be better reviewed before they are printed

Rather elementary and has many grammatical errors. The story cannot be believed because no person such as our heroin could have access so easily to information like she does.

I've just finished reading this book. I've also read books one and two and am about to start with Book 4. I have thoroughly enjoyed these stories. It seems each succeeding book is better than the one before it. I enjoy the Caribbean setting. Having been there it puts me right in the scenes. I am reading these in an iPad version and have noticed mistakes missed by the proof-reader. It may be as the result of formatting from hard cover to an electronic format. However I am still giving this book a 4-star rating.

Terrible plot, non existent character development, obvious statements that treat readers like idiots and chock full of editing errors - grammar, spelling, punctuation. But strangely addictive. Something about the setting I think allows the author to get away with so much. Bought the first few books but this is the last.
