Lady Susan

- Genre: Romance
Description
An Apple Books Classic edition.
Written when she was just 19, this early Jane Austen novella is a juicy, wicked tale starring a heroine more deliciously conniving than any of her others. The widowed Lady Susan Vernon is breathtakingly beautiful and irresistibly charming. On the surface, at least. When she sets out to secure an advantageous new husband, she reveals the true extent of her scheming.
Ensnaring one rich suitor and toying with another, Lady Susan might just get everything she wants—if she can keep her mask from slipping. With this fascinating early antiheroine at its heart,Lady Susan shows Austen already dissecting the social and economic games of Regency life with impeccable, caustic wit.

Great Jane Austen Book
4By Pinterestfan7This one is one I hadn’t heard of prior to the Love and Friendship movie coming out. But I loved the movie and equally loved the book! Although the plot is slightly different in both, I love the letter-style narration and emotion Austen can evoke from the reader toward Lady Susan. It’s a great, clean read!A must read
5By Ash111111117402715484017:0I'm a fan of Austen and have always loved her books. I've read all of her other books, but saved this for last and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the style and the wit, and I think anyone who likes Austen will most certainly enjoy this uniquely written book.Jane Austen At Her Best
5By NovelleteJane Austen's novels have always included a worthy villain- but this is the first one told chiefly from the villain's viewpoint. Austen's incredible understanding of human character, motivation and interaction shines forth in this story of a woman determined to lie herself through life and the way those around her respond to it. It reminds me most of Mansfield Park, though this story is certainly unique among her works.Great book
