Inspired by Richard Matheson's classic "Duel," "Throttle," by Joe Hill and Stephen King, is a duel of a different kind, pitting a faceless trucker against a tribe of motorcycle outlaws in the simmering Nevada desert. Their battle is fought out on twenty miles of the most lonely road in the country, a place where the only thing worse than not knowing what you're up against, is slowing down . . .

Throttle is one fine tale about honor and respect. King and Hill accomplish amazing imagery with their words, for both action and environment. Perfect summer read!

Read this in one sitting. Not by choice, I simply could not put it down. I only hesitated when I needed to compare moments to incidents, thoughts, and verbiage in my life. Especially paternal moments. Wonderful .
  • No no Joe

Mediocre at best. Sk allowing another less than good author ride his coat tails to make money. Even at .99 someone is making the money. Good luck to Joe and shame on sk for allowing your name to be associated with it.

A tale that flys by at speeds exceeding those of the bikers depicted in it! A must read for .99 cents!
