4By TedbuThis the second Joe Hill book I’ve read. Both were fantastic. First was The Fireman. Great reads that we’re hard to put and keeps you thinking long after you’re done. If you like Steven King you will like Joe Hill.I’m not sure

The main protagonist was very difficult to like, which was part of her character traits, but all I ended up doing was rooting for the “bad guys” more. Speaking of, the antagonists are the far more interesting characters in this book and I would have enjoyed much more backstory on Charlie Manx. The ending of the book that seems like a happy ending does not seem happy at all to me but is actually pretty messed up. Also there were a few things that I thought were left unresolved by the end. Otherwise, I found this to be suspenseful and very fun.Mediocre

5By shennessey23While reading the book I thought this is sort of Stephen King"ish" only 100 times better. Then I looked up the author after I finished. I was surprised to see the relation. While I enjoy Stephen Kings books I've never really liked his writing style. I LOVE Joe's writing style. Maybe it's because I'm of a different generation - a millennial, but the way Joe brings things to life is brilliant. He's not too wordy in his descriptions. He is able to pick just right words. I loved this book from beginning to end. I just have to add that for the people who gave bad reviews because they thought the words were cut off are complete idiots!Fascinating ride!!!

5By chubschopsI'm always a little sad when I finish reading a really good book. I always try to drag out the last remaining chapters just so I can be immersed in the story longer. Joe hill manages to write a horror Novel that is suspenseful & at the same time forces the reader to look back upon their own childhood. Reading this book has makes you fondly look back upon being a kid and reminds you just how important and wonderful a child's imagination can be. In a way, after reading this book I almost feel reacquainted with my inner child. So thank you for that, Mr. Joe hill.Missing last sentence of each chapter
