Modern World History: World War I

This is the third interactive ebook of a series on modern world history for high school students and teachers. This volume focuses on World War I, including sections on causes of the war, warfare, propaganda, and the peace. Unlike almost all textbooks, high school teachers wrote, designed, edited, and published this text to engage students in an in-depth analysis of the story of modern world history.

We will continue to revise and update the chapters. The next volume will be on the Rise of Democracy—including ancient roots of democracy, democracy in England, the French Revolution, and expanding the franchise for women— and will be complete in mid summer 2013. The volume after that will be on World War II and will be ready in December 2013.
