Thirty-nine years ago, we were born at the dawn of a new generation, as the twilight of the century faded. At that time, the country began a new chapter with the Doi Moi (Renovation) process, and our generation, those born in the year of the Tiger, 1986, was born amidst that historical transformation. We are children of that transitional period, growing up alongside the profound changes in Vietnam during that era. Time flies by in the blink of an eye: the generation of the Tiger, 1986, has now lived together through nearly four decades of ups and downs. As a generation that grew up amidst contrasts, we once had an innocent childhood during a time of scarcity. Many of our memories are intertwined with the flickering oil lamps during power outages, with leftover rice ration coupons in our mothers' cupboards, with the neighborhood loudspeakers and traditional games at the end of the street. Then the country opened up, and our youth was swept up in the whirlwind of the market economy and the explosion of technology. From cassette tapes to CDs and then MP3 players, from handwritten letters to text messages and social media, the 1986 generation witnessed and adapted to countless changes. But because of this, many of us were shaken by the new pace of life: some achieved great success, some had their dreams shattered, and some relentlessly pursued fame and fortune only to one day find themselves empty. Despite these ups and downs, looking back, we understand that each joy and sorrow has shaped the people we are today. But the amazing thing is that after all this, many of us still keep the flame burning.kindnessBy this age, everyone has experienced some degree of trauma: some have gone bankrupt in their careers, some have emerged from the ruins of a broken marriage, and some silently carry emotional scars.
