Description

A sizzling new standalone contemporary romance by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

A bad boy with something to prove.
A woman with a mission.
The race of their lives.
The love of a lifetime.

I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.

He's the fastest, fiercest driver around.

Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep...
but his smile sends me to my knees.

The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He's secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss....

This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I'm supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn't get into trouble. But it's an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation...or your curse.

He says he wants me. He says I'm the One. But he also thinks he'll break my heart, one piece at a time until it's gone.

From start to finish...***** 5 stars ***** This is a complete standalone and I didn't make the connection, with Remy, from Real, until I started reading. My passion for Katy Evan's words started in 2013. And let me say, she's blown me away with Racer. The bonding and romance are fierce and strong. Loyalty and desire tie Racer and Lana together. And their obsession for each other is pure, true and REAL. An absolute must read!

I couldn’t love this book more even if I tried. I am sitting here bawling my eyes out. Racer’s story has its up and downs, but shows the power of unconditional love. And also how insane it can be when you find it. Loved this addition to Katy’s collection!!

Racer has undoubtedly been one of the books at the top of my watch list and most anticipated reads ever since Katy Evans announced and surprised us all that this is really happening—that we are actually getting the splendid chance to get to know Remington Tate's son. And my oh my, reading this book was like being taken back to that very first moment when I read Real. I was in utter blissful and emotional book heaven—traveling around the world with the HW Racing Team, watching Racer zoom through those tracks—and I never wanted to come down from it. Racer's feelings for Lana may have developed in an instant, but the chemistry and tension that was brewing between these two from the very beginning were already completely off the charts. His intense addiction and fixation over her made my heart pitter-patter every single time. He was so overly possessive and protective when it came to her, yet so sweet and tender at the same time. His fierce intent on getting to know her inside and out, and trying his hardest to memorize her every quirk was absolutely beyond endearing. Needless to say, I devoured every last snippet of this goodness that Racer and Lana gave me. If you fell head over heels in love with Remy, the one and only Riptide, you won't stand a chance against Racer when you read this. Because this boy? He's definitely Remington Tate Jr... These two brought the phrase "like father, like son" on a whole other level and Katy Evans did such a wonderful execution of it. Read this. Get to know Racer fckn Tate. Seriously, there's just too much to love, adore and worship in this book. The adrenaline you'll feel... the emotions... they'll all run on high the whole time. You're guaranteed to be wrecked with feels inside and out.

Ok so if you love the original Real series, you will absolutely fall for Racer. All the possessive, protective, alpha male in a younger version of Remy. Racer Tate is the son of Remy and Brooke from the Real series. All grown up and super hot. He loves street racing, winning, and going fast. Lana is going about her life with her dad and brothers, racing car for formula one. Their team has done well in a few years, so Lana takes it upon herself to find a new driver. The best driver in the world. She finds Racer. This book was filled with such goodness. It was refreshing to read a book where there really isn’t one person who is the villain. In this case circumstance is the villain and it is up to Racer and Lana to overcome. We do get a sneak peak at Remy and Brooke as parents. Remy is still very much Remy. There was a scene between Remy and Racer that literally made my ovaries hurt. What can I say? I’m a sucker for hot dads being great fathers.

I devoured this book in less than 24 hours! Remy has always been one of my favorite characters, this book reminds me why. The rush, the excitement, the anticipation was very similar to how I felt reading Real. Thank you for writing Racer’s story, I didn’t want this to end. Definitely a must read and favorite for 2017!

Racer Tate.....the Tate name is a lot to live up to but holy Batman does Racer ever do that. He is everything you ever could have wanted and more. He reminds me so much of Remy yet he is completely his own man. Racer and Lana are just an explosion of the feels. Take this ride with them, you won’t regret it.

RACER.F#CKING.TATE. The baby that Katy fans all fell in love with in Mine. The little boy that everyone wondered if he would grow up to be just like his daddy. I think almost as soon as that little boy was born, readers were clamoring to know more and more about him. And we had to wait a bit, while Katy wrote some other books in the meantime. And then we did get to see more of him, in Legend, as a three year old bundle of energy and inquisitiveness. And after that little taste of Racer, it ramped up the reader's want for more of his story even more. Well, Racer is all grown up now. And yes, he is a lot like his daddy. In looks, and temperament, and drive, just to name a few. But also of the mindset that he will never be able to find a girl that would be able to put up with him. So he's been living his life, doing what he loves, street racing. It's not what Remy wants him to be doing, which would be to follow in his fighting footsteps. But it is his passion, that is, until he crashes into Lana Heyworth, literally. Lana is trying to keep the family's facing team afloat. They desperately need a driver to get them out of the dismal slump they've been in the past few years. This year is their last ditch effort. And Lana takes it upon herself to find a driver for the team to keep her father's dream alive. What she finds is Racer Tate. The gorgeous, cocky, overconfident illegal street racer who tells her he's the best driver in the world. It's obvious there's instant chemistry between Lana and Racer, but this has to be a professional relationship. He works for her family's team, so in essence he works for her. Can they keep it professional? Who am I kidding, we're talking about Racer Tate here. This guy is like sex on legs!! And they are mighty nice legs, too. Katy takes the team on the F1 circuit, with Racer burning up the track daily, and burning up Lana along the way. As much as she fights it, she's having a hard time keeping her feelings at bay, keeping the personal feelings out of the work environment. But she's scared at the same time to let Racer in and let her feelings come to the surface. She's suffered the loss of a loved one in the past, how is she supposed to expose herself to the possibility of love, when it could be taken away so easily again? Racer is a lot like Remy in his singular determination to get what he wants. He's scared too though, of letting Lana in, of letting her see the real sides of him. How can he possibly ask her to take him on, to take on everything that comes with being Racer Tate? I loved how Remy was there for Racer all throughout the story, dropping everything when Racer needed him. And it was wonderful to see Brooke again and to see her and Remy still just as much in love 20+ years later. Having read all of the books in the series, I melted when we got to see all of the other couples in the series: Melanie and Greyson, Reese and Maverick, and Pandora and Kenna with their children. I think readers who have been waiting for Racer's story will be very pleased with it. He is everything I was hoping for and more!!
