Description

The Princess and the Giant…

Meet the Jor’gen Kindred. After leaving the main Mother Ship centuries ago to make a genetic trade with a massive race of people, they are thirty percent bigger than their ancestors. Which makes them 9 feet tall—giants to regular sized humanoids. Now, hundreds of years after the genetic trade which made them so huge, the Jor’gen Kindred have no more females and are seeking a new people to trade with. Bram, their captain, has been dream-sharing with a female from a small, cold, rocky planet at the far edge of the galaxy. The problem? She’s tiny compared to him.

Alanah is the ruler of her people but not by choice. After a plague carried off all the men and boys, including her father the king, she and the female members of her pre-industrial society were left to fend for themselves. Alanah has always felt like an outsider. Not only is she a princess but she’s considered much too tall for a woman. The other ladies at court sneer at her behind her back, wondering where she will ever find a man big enough to take her on.

Enter Bram, a giant three feet taller than Alanah. Suddenly the formerly too-tall princess is feeling positively petite. But Alanah’s planet is stuck in the Dark Ages and Kindred technology looks like magic to them—black magic. Can Alanah convince her people the giant race is safe to join with? And can she and Bram overcome their differences—both physical and emotional—to form a lasting relationship?

You’ll have to read Taming the Giant to find out.

I love the entire series, but this one has a special place in my heart. In most of the other stories one or both of the main characters make bad decisions based on some past trauma. I appreciate that it helps create plot devices and suspense, but you often want to smack them up side the head. This story is a pleasant reprieve from that. The two are in love, admit it to each other, and never once sabotage it. (No smacking up side the head for these two.) It is an angst palette cleanser before heading into the rest of the series..... plus Giant Kindred sex. Always a perk.

WOW, another amazing book by Evangeline Anderson. I just love the Kindred Bride Series and I love how the author brought something new to the table with this story. Taming the Giant is a little different then the other Kindred Bride books you have read but similar as well. I love how the author took us back to the roots on some of the traditions of the early Kindred Bride Series. There was a tradition that I love in the first Kindred Bride Series that she added to this book and it brought a smile to my face. It was truly great to see. Bram was a Jor’gen Kindred. Want to know more about the Jor’gen Kindred you will need to read the book but I will say this I fell in love with the gentle giants and hope to see more book with them in it. Alanah Kingsdaughter had a lot on her shoulders. She was a princess of her plant and since her father’s death, she had a lot more harder work to do and keeping the women on her planet motivated was a big challenge. I found Alanah’s planet a little interesting. It was now a planet of all women, not but chose. Her plant was very old fashion and they did not know much about things that we would know or even the kindred would know. Bram had a great challenge on his hands. He had to go meet Alanah and the women of her planet without scaring them, their life was in his hands. I do have to say I love the chemistry that Alanah and Bram had. I just loved how they clicked. Of course with every book there has to be a villain and this book does have one but you will have to read the book to know more about that. This book is very hot and steamy and I have to say I just loved Bram and Alanah’s best friends in this book. I do hope to see more book come out on the Jor’gen Kindred. Glad I got a chance to read the book.

Evangeline Anderson - Taming the Giant: A Kindred Tales Novel (Brides of the Kindred) Taming the Giant is another addition to Evangeline Anderson’s Kindred Tales spin-off. At first I found the idea of a Giant Kindred ( Jor’gen Kindred) and human match a bit far fetched but I quickly became enamored with Bram and his crew. Years ago the Kindred (Genetic traders) joined with the Jor’gen a race of “Giants” who were compatible with their race. Flash forward many centuries and a horrible disease has caused the females of his race to perish. Not only are Bram and his crew in search of compatible females, but they have a crisis to avert. There is an asteroid “world killer” headed towards a small planet. Bram (the Giant with sapphire eyes and beautiful long braids) has been dream sharing with Alanah, the Princess of this doomed planet. Dream sharing is how the Kindred often first find their mates. Alanah recognizes Bram when he comes to introduce himself in person and trusts him instantly. Alanah has the responsibility of ruling her people, which consist of only females now as a plague wiped out all the males, including her father, the King. Alanah agrees to be with Bram on his Mothership (similar to the one orbiting earth). He must not only try to win her trust and love but convince her of the world killer heading for her planet. He has to get her to convince the females of her planet to evacuate and escape on the mothership. The author has created new worlds to discover and new races of Kindred to “ogle”. A wonderful exciting sci-fi fantasy that brings romance, danger, suspense, adventure, lots of humor and a solid 3🔥of the author’s special talent for writing hot scenes. The Kindred Tales May be a bit shorter in length than the Kindred Bride Series but they are just as engaging, entertaining and complete as the main series. I hope we get to see more of the Giant Kindred in future tales.
