Description

Love's Cruel Redemption is the twelfth book in The Academy Ghost Bird Series.

Sang's life was on pause after the dramatic break with her real family. Now she's back in the game, returning to Ashley Waters to appear like a normal student. However, returning to school hasn't made her life any easier. When it comes to the Academy and her role in the secret organization, there's no such thing as normal.

When Kota's mother catches Sang and the guys in the complex web of lies they've woven, everything starts to unravel: Their relationships, their ties to the Academy. Everything's under risk of exposure.

Nathan struggles most with his conscience and lying to Erica Lee, the woman who supported him when his own mother was never there, doesn't seem like the right thing to do. She's his family and Nathan knows you shouldn't lie to family. But he also knows the truth could hurt her: It could put Erica in danger. And it could force Kota to make a choice he should never have to: his mother and sister, or his team—his chosen family.

With Ashley Waters High School under attack and the principal now missing, the Academy needs to maintain its cover more than ever. It's a bad time for Erica to start discovering what the Academy is really all about.

But to protect them all, Nathan's willing to take the heat. He'll do it for Sang, as well as Kota, Victor, Silas, Gabriel, Luke, North, and the rest of the team. He may be their only chance at survival.

But Sang, who committed to be all in with her team, isn't about to let Nathan go down alone.

I absolutely love these books. ❤️. But as an abuse survivor I do feel that maybe there should be trigger warning for some of the content. I would want there to be some kind of warning. I wasn’t prepared for some of the “likeness” to my own situation. At times it was so difficult to read and made me very emotional but at the same time so hard to put down. As a writer I hope that you’ll continue to shine a light on child abuse and it’s after affects on those harmed. Thanks Lisa

I used to love reading this series, but now I find it over the top and boring! All of the boys being in love with that one girl is too unrealistic. The author should make sang take one boy or find herself another boy that has nothing to do with the group. Or at the very least only stay with a couple of the boys. This book is so dramatic and why is sang always in trouble! She always needs saving she is always being shown as week and in need of protection! Also the storyline is very cringe, all of the kissing and petty things. Just slow down with all of this! Please! This series is now becoming more foolish by the books and pretty overwhelming because some parts are so unbelievably ridiculous!

We come back to the Blackbourne team as they try to navigate life after getting Sang out of her house and returning to school. This book will leave you speechless at the end!

I’ve enjoyed this series from the start, back when we got several books a year. I kept at it even when the installments dwindled to less than one a year on average. I still enjoyed this latest installment but I’m starting to think that I might not stick with the series for much longer if things continue the way they are. Too often scenarios seem too contrived and unbelievable and characters’ actions/reactions are often over-the-top on one hand or seriously lacking on other occasions. These Academy boys are supposed to be intelligent, highly skilled and aware. More often than not, those talents were sorely absent. Moreover, I have no idea where the supposedly 498 page count came from. The book is at most 360 pages at medium font size, including the preface/content pages and the preview at the end. I didn’t mind paying $4.99 for the advertised 498 pages but I feel robbed by about 130 pages. Not cool.

I loved it, but the longer I read the more bored I get. I’m over the non-romance storyline. It’s so unrealistic to have so much going on. And how can anyone like anyone romantically when there isn’t an ounce of romantic situations. Ugh I may be done with this series.

My favorite book series hands down, love all the characters so much. I genuinely don’t think I can wait another whole year to read the next one!! Can’t wait to see Sang’s relationship with each of the guys develop even more 😍

I absolutely loved this book just as much as I loved all the others! Kept me anxious, yet it was well worth the emotional ride. There are definitely some surprises I hadn’t anticipated! I can’t wait for the next one to be released!

I absolutely love this series and there’s been so much speculation about how the boys are doing in terms of all getting on board. Nathan’s been a tough one but this book really captures the essence of him and gives a lot away in terms of his character as well as development. It’s official, Volto is killing me. He’s back at it in a way that’s dangerous and dark and literally almost killing the boys. But that ending where Volto might not be who we expected? Now I want the next book and I want it now.
