Description

A hot new hockey romance from USA TODAY bestselling author Mira Lyn Kelly "A sweet and sexy romp with loads of heart, Dirty Rebound is a friends-with-benefits charmer that will leave you smiling and wishing there were more pages to turn." -USA Today Bestselling Author, Lili Valente I care too much about Cammy Wesley to marry her… Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. But hear me out. Cammy’s my best friend. The one person I can’t live without. The girl with the sunshine smile, the loaded fridge, and the most awesome kid I’ve ever met. She’s also the hot AF single mom I’ve made it my mission to protect from guys like me. I won’t risk ruining our friendship by pushing for something more. I can’t be her forever. I’m not that guy. I’m the good time. The class clown. The hockey stud. I’m the happy for now, not the happily ever after. I stay in my lane, but when Cammy’s ex needs a lesson, the rash overprotective part of me jumps the boards and I go from best friend to fake boyfriend in the span of a kiss. And that’s just the beginning. Because when it comes to Cammy, there’s nothing I won’t do for her. Even if it’s guaranteed to wreck me.

Amazing! Simply Amazing! Mira Lyn Kelly’s book #3 in the Slayers series, Dirty Rebound, is quickly becoming one of my favorite rereads. It’s an incredibly well written, super hot hockey romance with a terrific cast of characters and a great story line. It’s a sports friends to lovers book written in a dual POV that is the best type of book in a series: It’s a standalone but with supporting characters from previous (and hopefully future!) books that is like seeing old friends again! The Dual POV is my favorite type of writing and Ms. Kelly does it oh so well. The chapters featuring Rux gives us insights into why he’s remained in the friend zone with Cammy all these years even though his attraction grows by the day. His thoughts ... and words ... are raw, honest, and will have you swooning. He’s totally dedicated to Cammy and she’s on board with it. Rux has become a father figure to her young son Matty who thinks Rux hung the moon! Cammy is a hot single mom with an ex that is trying to get back into the picture. She’s the sister of Julia, who was featured in a previous Slayer book. She’s secretly in love with Rux and is fighting the attraction .... somewhat. As Rux and Cammy give in to their attraction that’s been on a slow burn all these years, they question what’s been holding them back ... all as they have “one more last time.” Dirty Rebound is a fab read ... it’s rich with dialogue and has a solid storyline with well developed characters. If you like Friends to Lovers, Dual POV, and sports romance, this book is a trifecta! Download it today! I was generously given an ARC by the author. This is my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. Watching Rux and Cammy discover the relationship they THINK is one of friendship has changed and grown over the years to become something much larger, and much more important than either of them could have realized was so much fun. I loved their relationship from the start, so it was wonderful to watch them navigate their way to their happy-ever-after.. These two are so sweet together, but also scorchingly hot. I can’t recommend this book enough. (I should note that while this is a book in a series it can be read as a standalone. Getting to reconnect with characters from earlier books isn’t at all confusing, but is fun!) Note: I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

Ruxton Meyers, Slayers Hockey player, is a player. He loves kids, he’s a great friend, and an AWESOME hockey player. But he isn’t a “white picket fences” kind of guy. He knows this and is very upfront when “dating”. His best friend, Cammy, knows this as well. When Rux finds out Cammy’s latest boyfriend dumps her and only used her for Slayers tickets, he’s beyond mad. So, he does what any other best friend would do, he kisses Cammy in front of the her ex. Cammy, a single mom to an adorable, impressionable boy, wants the dream. She wants a man who loves her son as much as he loves her. Although Rux has been a great friend and a good role model to her son, she knows nothing could ever come of a relationship with him. Rux and Cammy are better as best friends and she doesn’t want to risk losing her best friend over a “friends with benefits” relationship. Once the kissing starts, they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. The chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS! But when Cammy’s ex pops back into her life, Cammy has to make some hard decisions. Although Rux HATES Jeremy, Cammy’s ex, he’s certain he’s not in it for the long haul—or is he? If you’re looking for an Alpha with a soft, gooey inside, Rux is your man! He and Cammy’s son are adorable together! I loved the family picture he drew of Rux, Cammy, and himself. The chemistry was HOT! The matching Superman-Wonder Woman undies reminded me of my childhood days when Underoos were the “in” thing. Amazing story, relatable, and funny. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

What a phenomenal story! I loved absolutely everything about Rux and Cammy. This was a perfect best friends to lovers story and it was exactly the book I needed. Rux was such an awesome guy and when coupled up with Cammy they were just perfect. When I read the last line of the book my first thought was “I am not done with them and I need more”. Cammy is a single mother that just wants a security for her and her son and when her latest date breaks up with her, Rux is there to help her save face. And boy does he ever help her out. These two best friends when they decided to add benefits to the mix- WOW. Seriously, wow! I think these two might now be my favorite Slayers couple. This book will definitely get a reread because it was just that good. I loved seeing more of Julia(Cammy’s sister), Greg, Natalie, George, Quinn and the rest of Rux’s teammates. This is a great series and this is definitely a book worth reading and enjoying.
  • So deliciously great!

Honestly, I’m not sure how much more hotness I can take in this Slayers Hockey series! Ms. Kelly took my favorite trope, friends to lovers, and made it even better than most books with similar themes I’ve read! Rux is all that and a bag of chips! Charming, funny, sexy...a great friend to Cammy, hardworking teammate, part of a bromance with the equally hot Greg (Dirty Player. Read it!) and a man to look up to for Matty, Cammy’s young son. He comes off as goofy and not very serious, but he’s wonderful to his best friend, even as they become much more. But there’s so much more depth to the guy who isn’t looking for serious, kids or wedding bells. The chemistry with Cammy, even before they moved into a “with benefits” category, is special and real. Serious became a part of their relationship as soon as their friendship started. Cammy isn’t asking Rux for more than he can give, either. It’s all just another indication as to how great they are, as friends and as lovers. That’s not to say everything is smooth sailing. Jeremy, the baby daddy, is back in town for his son (finally). Ugh, just that name makes me want to hurl! Rux has a bit of a backstory we haven’t seen yet, too. But no spoilers! This series is simply awesome and I can’t say enough good things about it, or Mira Lyn Kelly herself! I haven’t read anything of hers that I haven’t loved. Dirty Rebound can be read as a stand-alone, but do yourself a favor and grab the rest of the series as well. Once you meet all the sexy hockey gods, you’ll thank me!
