  • I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book. It has all the classic beats of a Mira Lyn Kelly story, and all of the humor that I’ve come to expect from her. The setup is classic, but has some new twists that are REALLY funny. I think I just love Kelly’s character archetypes. Liam is a classic stand-up guy, and at this point Kelly has written so many of them that I assume all hockey teams are full of them. (Don’t tell me if that’s false, I need to keep the dream alive, ok?) He is duty-bound to whatever will make Stormy’s life easier, softer, and more joyful. Because of that “put-her-first” mentality, the reader has to do some digging to figure out what led Liam to this marriage and why he thinks he needs to leave it. Stormy is super easy to empathize with she’s smart, funny, self-deprecating, and loves her job (and is really good at it!). Then of course these two dummies tell themselves and each other that they won’t fall in love and are just going to have sex once to get it out of their systems. Lol. Yeah, these stories are like candy to me. So easy to read and perfectly delicious every time. Can’t wait for the next one! **I received an advance reading copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.**
  • My New Favorite Book Boyfriend!

Liam Diesel. Oh. My. Goodness. I think Mira Lyn Kelly has written one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends with this character. Liam was just amazing. Sweet, sexy, a little surly. I just loved everything about him. And he and Stormy were so perfect together. It was fun to watch the two of them try to reason their way through their growing relationship, knowing that they were destined to fail at staying just friends. Stormy was a great character, too. She was a strong, competent career woman who was more than a match for Liam. And it was great to see some of the characters from previous Slayers books. Noel was hilarious, and I got as much of a kick out of him as Liam did. This was one of those books you can’t put down, but hate to have end. And did I mention Liam Diesel? Sigh! Highly recommended.

Leave it to Mira Lyn Kelly to take that tried and true fake quickie Vegas wedding troupe and turn it on its head, in the best way possible! After parting ways after their Vegas nuptials…one they don’t immediately dissolve for, you know…reasons…Liam and Stormy see each other on Christmas Eve, one year later. While each have thought about the other in those 365 days, they still aren’t ready to make it real, nor even tell those closest to them about those wedding bells. In fact, a divorce is in their future…if they can stop fake dating each other! The chemistry between these two is off the charts and their blossoming friendship and romantic feelings are a joy to watch unfold. This grumpy loner is a totally different man around his sweet and sunny fake wife, and he’ll do whatever he can to help her, even if he truly doesn’t want to let her go. Like every book by the author, once I start reading, there’s no stopping until that last page is turned. The humor and the heart grabbed on tight and did not let go. Stormy and Liam (not matter how much he’s called Diesel, he’s always Liam to me) have a honest, real connection that was a joy to watch grow. While I try not to play favorites among my Slayer players, I think Liam and Stormy hold an extra special place in my heart.

Another fabulous book in the Chicago Slayers series. I absolutely loved Stormy and Liam from the very beginning and I did not want to put my book down. From the moment these two met in Vegas I was hooked on them and couldn’t wait for them to realize how great they were together. I enjoyed getting more of Misty and Noel’s story too(Misty is Stormy’s sister and they were both featured in Dirty Christmas). Seeing Liam and Noel become friends and eventually B2B’s was fun and was something that Liam really needed in his life. Stormy was fantastic and really helped Liam open up to his teammates and to just be happy and smile more. Seeing them fall in love was wonderful. This series is fantastic and I find a new book boyfriend every time I start reading one of these books. Can’t wait for the next book boyfriend!

This was an amazing read. I loved Liam and Stormy. This was a great fake relationship story. It had a unique flavor and the characters were wonderful. They really came to life for me and I'm looking forward to reading the other characters stories now.
