The Fairest of them all
5By KitntinkMagic & Mirrors brings Snow White’s story to Grimm Academy. Like many other students, Snow has a disastrous prophecy. Unlike them, she has developed an anxiety disorder due to it and is plagued by insecurities as well as panic attacks. She less concerned with falling in love and is merely surviving until she meets Edward. With his help and support, she may find the courage to face her prophecy. As someone who struggles with an anxiety disorder as well as C-PTSD, I was particularly touched by how well Snow’s story was handled. Snow avoids her triggers as best she can and uses many positive self talk techniques to deal with her anxiety. Despite not knowing the cause of her panic attack, Edward helps her through it with kindness and compassion. He doesn’t think less of her for her struggles and vows to help however he can once she explains her prophecy. I particularly appreciated that breaking the curse doesn’t just magically cure her anxiety. Another fabulous fairy tale by Laura Greenwood. 5By LisaCloverWhat I love about these variations of the original fairy tales told by this author is her twist on it and it all involving a school surrounding prophesies. With Snow White learning her prophesy, it has her scared and timid. Her character grows in this adaptation and she becomes embolden and strong for it. I love the good feels of this series and continue reading about each prophesy’s “fairy tale”. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.Fantastic!
5By MA2674Snow’s story and a retelling of Snow White I have to say the thing that resonates the most with me about this book is how realistic a character/person Snow is. Yes we all read books for escapism or adventure or what have you but when characters are not perfect, have real issues we can all relate to I think it makes the story that much more special. That’s exactly what happens here. This is a lovely reimagined version of the classic fairytale but what I enjoy most is how Snow has issues but doesn’t let them stop her from living. She embraces herself and overcomes. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.Snow White a little differently than you’ve seen before
5By ManxcatluvrEach Grimm Academy book features a character from a fairy tale, and their efforts at Grimm Academy to avoid the prophecy about them. In this book Snow is anxious about everything, but especially mirrrors, combs, apples, and corsets. At the academy she meets Edward, bonds to a unicorn foal, and seeks to avoid (or survive) her prophecy. A clean, easy, and fun read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
