Description

The goddess of mourning yearns for freedom.

For years, Nephthys has been living in the compound of a man that's never loved her. When a god from her past shows up, she's offered a chance to finally leave.

Despite being drawn to Heka and the life he offers her among the other gods, Nephthys finds herself refusing.

Until Seth pushes things too far and she realises she can't stand by and watch any longer.

But escaping is only half the challenge. Once she's back at Karnak, she has to persuade the other gods she can still be trusted.

This series is getting good. I couldn't put this story down. I couldn't wait to see what happened next for Nephthys. Nephthys has been living with a god who doesn't love her and makes her doubt everything. She meets Heka which changes her thinking. But things are heating up. When Seth is the God of Chaos and causing problems, Nephthys needs to figure out what she really wants. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is really a story about choices and was interested in what Nephthys would do. She has the opportunity to leave Seth but will she actually do it and try for a better life. Interesting story and characters and fun to read. Plus get to see others Gods. Enjoyed it.

This is the story of Nephthys and Heka. She is the consort of Seth trapped in a loveless union by her fear and his cruelty. He is sent to offer her a chance at regaining her freedom. A quick easy read. There’s some continuing story lines from the Forgotten Gods Universe but nothing that takes away from this story, more like teases for other books to read. These are two gods of Ancient Egypt I’m not familiar with so it was interesting to read a version of their story. I’ve read a few of these books and my main dissatisfaction as always is length I wish there was more of each story.
