Description

Two happily-married firefighters must deal with the rigors and responsibilities of a new baby in their relationship.

Firefighter Annie Ferris O’Shea has it all: an idyllic marriage to her high school sweetheart, an exciting career and a circle of devoted friends. But when she has a child, everything changes.

Colin O’Shea is a traditional good guy who sees things in black and white. He adores his wife—hell they’ve been together since he was sixteen—but the addition of a new baby complicates their relationship.

They fight! They end up in bed! And nothing’s solved. Colin’s frustrated and Annie’s disgusted at what’s become of them. The Sisters of Fire babysit her daughter and take Annie on nights out, but they can’t make these two see eye-to-eye. The O’Shea’s marriage is in jeopardy.

When any kind of compromise seems doomed, will Colin and Annie have to face the end of their marriage?

No Easy Choice is the 3rd book in the Sisters of Fire series. This time we have Annie and Colin’s story. Annie is on maternity leave after having their first child and struggling with lack of sleep, guilt and feeling overwhelmed by motherhood. This is a very realistic account of a couple trying to adjust to their new baby. Colin has been offered a promotion which initially causes him to be away from home more causing more stress for Annie. Fortunately, they are both committed to their marriage and willing to do whatever is necessary to keep their family together. It is great to catch up with the other sisters of fire. Ms Shay is a great writer who brings her characters to life. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

When Annie has her baby, a baby she has wanted and loves dearly, she is soon faced with a choice of when to return to work. Both Annie and Colin struggle with the adjustment of loving their newborn and wanting what is best for her while jiggling careers, promotions and family time. As with many of her other books, Ms. Shay Writes a wonderful story while mixing in real life struggles and showing how to work through issues. She helps to encourage and gives usable solutions that are usable. Kudos!

In Sisters of Fire book 3 Annie and Colin are having some struggles after the birth of their daughter. It is rare to read a romance focused on a married couple but even more a book that highlights the decisions a young family often faces when making decisions for the family. The Sisters of Fire really do look out for each other, offering advice and solutions. Through all of the challenges Colin and Annie show their love. What a refreshing book. Kathryn Shay has hit it out of the park. A true real world challenge for couples.

ARC for honest review with no compensation No Easy Choice is book 3 in the Sisters of Fire series by Kathryn Shay and while each book is a standalone, reading them in order gives you a better understanding of each woman, her background and the camaraderie between them. Up next is Annie Ferris O’Shea, married to her high school sweetheart, loving her career, just recently had a baby and now that her maternity leave is up they have to make some decisions…going from two incomes to one, staying home and not missing out on they baby growing, modern day versus old society, promotions, longer hours and finding a happy medium for a happy life.

Colin’s lieutenant birthday party, crew got sub’s to work for them tonight. Annie first night out in ten days, the baby had a cold, a call the baby won’t stop crying to come. Realizing that life changes and choices now to make. Annie wanted 2 more months leave. Colin knew the lack of money from growing up, working extra while she was home. Boss asked him about going to another station and be the boss of his own crew. Getting physical train for it would take extra time, should he even think about it. A good down to earth story, of each deciding what was best for them as an individual, then what they wanted as a family for the love to continue Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
