Description

Love is a mortal sin, and the secrets of the past are deadly. Plunge into the third installment in the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series and “prepare to be hooked” (Entertainment Weekly).

To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters—never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family’s past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he’s willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City—whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the third installment of bestselling series the Mortal Instruments.

Includes an exclusive sneak peek of the fourth book in the Mortal Instruments series: City of Fallen Angels! And don't miss the teaser from Clockwork Angel, the first book in the Infernal Devices trilogy, the prequel to the Mortal Instruments series.

All the characters are brainless. Why make them so dumb? Like jace and real Jonathan, jace hears who Jonathan is and thinks he is his brother. Come on

So, when I first started the series, I completely fell in love. I seriously love Jace and Clary so much! And then... Valentine told them they were siblings. I was like, NOOOOOOOOOOO! But, at the same time, something felt off about it. It didn’t run right. I had no idea who Jace’s father could be, but I was not surprised when I found out about Stephen. Anyway though, JACE AND CLARY ARE TOGETHER! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 *Happy dances* I am definitely a little in love with Jace too.

This book was AMAZING! This series is definitely one of my favorites! So much happens in this book and there are drastic changes in the story line!!!! The only problem i have is that In my opinion, the chapters focused on Simon were not as interesting as the others.

As I've mentioned before. I'm rereading the series after several years. I still love it. What I noticed after reading the first three books, is that it is obvious that Luke loves Clary and vice versa, but they never say it. Not romantically, of course. I mean Clary mentions that when she was a child, Luke fed her crushed ice to bring down her fever. I guess for children you don't expect it, but adult usually do not have a problem expressing themselves to their children. I initially thought it was because they were shadow hunters, but it seems to come easier to the teens. Valentine and Jonathan are evil. Were evil. I couldn't believe Max was killed. That was so sad. This book is the most heartbreaking to me. Jace fines out the truth about himself. Finally. I do believe Valentine did love Jace. I think he wanted to love Johnathan, but he truly was a demon. I loved the way Ms. Clare told several stories going on at the same time. Clary had her battle, Simon had his and Jace was fighting his. She didn't miss a beat. So captivating. I do wish that the others fighting the war were highlighted a little. I would have wanted to know how Jocelyn and Luke fought together, along with others. I did love Izzy slicing off Johnathan's hand with her whip. Fantastic! In any event, this is a great story. On to the next. Enjoy!

This is by far one of my favorites out of the series, I absolutely loved everything about it, all the mystery suspense and romance it was so enthralling. The plot literally pulls the reader in, what would happen when all the mortal instruments being put together and the epic secret reveals were so mesmerizing I couldn't put the book down. The main character leads were of course awesome as always and one of my favorites by far, the supporting characters were just as hilarious and great I just adore how the reader gets so many different perspectives and views when reading.
