FROM THE BACK COVER:

"My name is Alice Ringwald, but the man who kidnapped me says that's a lie."

Thirteen-year-old orphan Alice Ringwald has no memory beyond six months ago. The only life she knows is the new one she's creating one day at a time with the loving couple that recently adopted her and gave her new hope. That hope, however, is shattered one night when she is abducted by a strange man. In a frantic FBI man hunt, the kidnapper vanished with Alice.

Of all the great Ted Dekker novels I have read, this one was lacking and fell short of his usual storytelling splendor. Sorry Ted, this was not one of your better novels.

I so loved this book and was truly sad when I reached the last page. Ted Dekker is a master of character development. Many times his characters are quite broken, even damaged people who need a Savior to rescue them. In Water Water, I fell in love with Eden! I wanted to bring her home with me and mother her in a healthy way, but through her own traumas and those of her equally broken mother, Eden finds her inner strength, and in turn, so does her mother. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone! It's quite wonderful! You will have a difficult time putting it down.

I bought this because of the rave reviews of Episode 1. A mixture of paranormal, some gentle Christianity, a parody of extreme fundamentalists. If Dekker's goal was to leave his readers with an inspirational message, he lost me
