Description
In a “sexy, suspenseful read,” #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts delivers “a slow-burning fuse of a plot that ultimately explodes in a nail-biting conclusion.”*
Shelby Foxworth lost her husband. Then she lost her illusions…
The man who took her from Tennessee to an exclusive Philadelphia suburb left her in crippling debt. He was an adulterer and a liar, and when Shelby tracks down his safe-deposit box, she finds multiple IDs. The man she loved wasn’t just dead. He never really existed.
Shelby takes her three-year-old daughter and heads south to seek comfort in her hometown, where she meets someone new: Griff Lott, a successful contractor. But her husband had secrets she has yet to discover. Even in this small town, surrounded by loved ones, danger is closer than she knows—and threatens Griff, as well. And an attempted murder is only the beginning...

Get to the point….
2By TaylorTriedItI get it, everyone is a quirky southern person. Lots of unnecessary filler and conversations.Great Read, could not put down!
5By Ty9203Thrilling and suspenseful, kept me totally entertainedToo slow
1By Lot :)I can’t finish this book, I got bored it was too slow for a mystery. I felt like it was more on the family matter on her side than the mystery of what exactly happened to the husband.Wonderful !
5By RoquetjeyRight up to the last word! The Liar
5By Florinda1404Very good read!Nice Story
3By NrjdkdoldiepfoIt was a sweet story but not suspenseful enough for me. A little bit of a slow read with too much focus on the detail of Shelby’s family, friends and love interest. Not enough detail and intrigue on the plot of the ex-husband and what titled the book.It takes you in . . .
5By SMoody53From the first words, this book captures you and takes you along until the very last! Ms. Roberts has outdone herself with this story, characters that you can visualize so easily. I would have to say this is my favorite Nora Roberts book!Love love

5By JanBfieldCouldn’t stop reading.Not very good!
2By anne1224Definitely not one of Nora’s better reads. I thought it was very predictable and drug on for too long…I found myself skipping over several pages to get to the good stuff. I still love Nora tho! 😊
