Loved this captivating journey back in time. The author's detailed descriptive narrative transported the reader firmly back in the early eighteenth century, into the beautiful Scottish highlands with castles and ruins as well as clans and their workings and it was magical. This is was a first read of a Suzanne Enoch story and I was not disappointed, and will need to read more of her stories. Lord Munro"Bear" MacLawry at the age of twenty seven is the sole unattached MacLawry. In the last year and a half all of his siblings have settled down, married and were having children. It was all sugar and roses enough to rot his teeth. Not that "Bear" wasn't a ladies man at Six foot seven inches with broad shoulder as big as a mountain and all muscle he had plenty of women wanting his attention, but he didn't fancy settling down and having children and a wife to take care of. One day when he is out tracking a buck to kill, he is totally taken unaware when he is beaten to the kill by someone else. Upon further inspection, he notices that it is a lass not a lad with long red hair and so he follows her to the ruins of Haldane Abbey. Intrigued Bear confronts the lass and keeps his identity a secret. Catriona "Cat" MacColl and her half sister Elizabeth are on the run and hiding out in the Abbey. Cat was raised by her father who wanted a boy, so when her mother died when she was little, he dressed and treated her as a boy. She was not allowed to grow her hair, made to wear pants and learned to shoot hunt and fish at an early age. Mocked and made fun of her entire life, Cat leaves shortly after her father dies and rescues her half sister from a unwanted betrothed. Cat being self sufficient and feeling that these ruins were a perfect place to hide doesn't need or want any help especially from someone that could bring more people to their hiding place. But Munro is taken by the lass and their snarky banter and with all the time he has on his hands he cannot leave her and her sister alone. And although Cat doesn't want to admit it, she is glad that he keeps coming back. The sizzling chemistry between them soon leads to some knee melting kisses and Cat is taken by this gentle caring giant and he can not get enough of his hell cat. I was thoroughly mesmerized by the tenderness and all encompassing giving and caring nature that was Munro. But what will happen when their secrets that they are both hiding are found out? What will Munro's family do about Catriona and her secret? Will they get their HEA? You will have to read this captivating and enchanting tale of Some Like it Scot to find out. Loved it! Highly Recommended! Received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

I loved this book and all the books in the series. This series has all the qualities a good series should have. A family that pokes their nose in all aspects of each others lives and a strong sense and respect of family. Great secondary characters that will make you laugh and cry. Even the pets were a part of the family. In this book the Munro "Bear" MacLawry the big hamfisted, easygoing lover boy of the family finds the one lass he can't seem to get out of his mind. Catriona "Cat" MacColl is on the run with her sister Elizabeth to keep her from marrying a man three times her age. They find themselves in the MacLawry clans land in hopes of hiding out until they can figure out their next move. While out hunting Bear comes across a trouser wearing lass who shots as well as he does and takes down the deer he's been after. Following her he finds she's living in the broken down ruins of Haldane Abbey. Once he meets her at the end of her musket, he can't get her out of his mind and he feels the need to protect her. But Cat has a secret and Bear's out to find out what it is so he can send her and her sister on their way. Only the longer he's with Cat the more he needs to be with her. Bear and Cat have such great chemistry. Cat calls it like it is and will not sugar coat her words and sees Bear for the intelligent man he is. Bear finds this sexy hellcat refreshing with a backbone of steel. I loved every minute of their dialogue and I didn't want the book to end. Start reading this series as soon as you can you will not regret it.
