Description

When UNESCO created the World Heritage List back in 1978, the Galapagos Islands were the first to be inscribed as a natural treasure on the Earth. The islands should be on the wishlist of any serious traveller or environment enthusiast. This Gorgeous trip was one of the best trips that I was so lucky to do. The trip included Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Colombia really impressed me with its attitude towards life, the universe and everything. Panama was fun, but I would need to go back and see more of the country. To see the capital city and a small part of the Panama Canal was not sufficient.  The Colombians were very attractive, very friendly and very approachable. Their invitations to dance, so out of blue and random, must have been the greatest fun to observe. Plus all those colonials towns, pueblos and villages, pre-Colombian sites, and such a diversified landscape did not disappoint. Ecuador also sported great historic cities, but the highlight of the trip was the archipelago of the Galapagos Islands. The nonchalance of the wildlife there was simply amazing.

This short book describes the author’s personal and unique experiences during his trip in August and September 2015 to Panama City, Panama Canal, Bogota, Villa de Leyva, Santa Fe de Antioquia, Medellin, Popayan, San Agustin, Cartagena de Indias, Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca and the following Galapagos Islands: Santa Cruz, Baltra, Floreana, Espanola, San Cristobal, Santa Fe, South Plaza, North Seymour, Bartolome and Sombrero Chino.

This book contains over 230 original photographs taken during the trip, map of the route, detailed itinerary, budget and charts with the actual costs of the trip, broken by country and type of the expense.
