Description
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes a new novel in her Blood and Ash series…
Is Love Stronger Than Vengeance?
A Betrayal…
Everything Poppy has ever believed in is a lie, including the man she was falling in love with. Thrust among those who see her as a symbol of a monstrous kingdom, she barely knows who she is without the veil of the Maiden. But what she does know is that nothing is as dangerous to her as him. The Dark One. The Prince of Atlantia. He wants her to fight him, and that’s one order she’s more than happy to obey. He may have taken her, but he will never have her.
A Choice….
Casteel Da’Neer is known by many names and many faces. His lies are as seductive as his touch. His truths as sensual as his bite. Poppy knows better than to trust him. He needs her alive, healthy, and whole to achieve his goals. But he’s the only way for her to get what she wants—to find her brother Ian and see for herself if he has become a soulless Ascended. Working with Casteel instead of against him presents its own risks. He still tempts her with every breath, offering up all she’s ever wanted. Casteel has plans for her. Ones that could expose her to unimaginable pleasure and unfathomable pain. Plans that will force her to look beyond everything she thought she knew about herself—about him. Plans that could bind their lives together in unexpected ways that neither kingdom is prepared for. And she’s far too reckless, too hungry, to resist the temptation.
A Secret…
But unrest has grown in Atlantia as they await the return of their Prince. Whispers of war have become stronger, and Poppy is at the very heart of it all. The King wants to use her to send a message. The Descenters want her dead. The wolven are growing more unpredictable. And as her abilities to feel pain and emotion begin to grow and strengthen, the Atlantians start to fear her. Dark secrets are at play, ones steeped in the blood-drenched sins of two kingdoms that would do anything to keep the truth hidden. But when the earth begins to shake, and the skies start to bleed, it may already be too late.
Reviews
Growing story
4By Garrett OhlingerI feel like the first book was a simple fantasy romance but now I feel like it’s growing our characters into something more and it takes time and I’m enjoying that rideUp all night!

5By AlyssaRayBLove love love this series.Torn.
2By LilNordI have never been so torn. The underlying storyline is interesting and I want to know what is going on. But the dialogues just goes on forever and ever. This book could have been good if someone would have edited it properly.Cant stop reading this series!
5By Ladadama43Awesome series in a rich imagined world!Great Read
3By mfwatson17Loved this book, but for the amount of pages I felt some of it could have been shortened as it felt drawn out in some chapters. Loved watching the slow burn catch on fire between themboring
1By Kellyochothe dialogue is horrendous. i’m not usually a harsh critic but the repetitive nature of the characters, the thought processes, and the circling of every thought brought up over and over again was a hard read. first book to dnf. disappointing because i grew to like the characters in the first book so to have them be deduced to “she’s violent” “he doesn’t love me” was hard.Horrible.
1By femcel101If I have to read the words “she’ll stab me” one more time I’ll rip my hair out. Boring, boring conversations. The entirety of this book is just Poppy, Kieran, and Casteel having the exact same conversation of “she’ll stab me” or “she’s violent” and weird awkward dialogue. It feels like I’m reading a poorly edited wattpad story. The first book gave it so much potential and it’s just went downhill so fast. I regret the money I spent on it when I could have just read a similar book on Ao3 or wattpad that’s just as poorly worded and constructed.Swoon-worthy Series🫶🏼 📖🥰
5By MonasaderskincareMy sister and I adore this series and have incorporated it into our naughty, sci-fi fantasy book club! I highly recommend this book to anyone, as it is a fantastic read! I read this book, cover to cover, in a matter of days, and we eagerly await the third installment of this phenomenally delicious series! 👩🏻🤝👩🏻🔥💞📚😍☀️🌈🌎🦄✨🌙📘❣️Hooked
5By YetchebarneI can’t put this series down.If I could give more stars, I would.
5By queen of everything... jkI absolutely loved the book!Good story, a little too long
4By m.kratzatThe biggest problem with this series is that some stuff is very drawn out. Minimal spice as an not frequent and not present in the first book really. It’s a really good story and plot line but it’s long which what’s difficult for me and the main character Poppy doesn’t really seem to get any faster with her thought processes.Fun read
4By meg.kamilleThis was a great read! I’ll enjoy reading the third book I’m sure!!Ahhhhhhhhh
5By lunessssOh my GOD THE ENDING HAD ME SHOOKETHHHHH I CANT WAIT TO READ THE NEXT ONE 😭😭😭😭 these bring me just as much joy as acotar did!!
