Description

The werewolves and shifters come out of the closet and throw the small town of Bon Temps into a tailspin in the ninth novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series—the inspiration for the HBO® original series True Blood.

Except for cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse, folks in Bon Temps, Louisiana, knew little about vamps—and nothing about Weres. Until now. The Weres and shifters have finally revealed their existence to the ordinary world, and the backlash may have claimed the life of someone Sookie knew. But her determination to find out who is responsible for the murder is put aside in the face of a far greater danger. A race of unhuman beings—older, more powerful, and more secretive than vampires or werewolves—is preparing for war. And Sookie will find herself an all-too-human pawn in their battle...

Dead and Gone finds Sookie smack dab in supe politics and a war with her as a target. The story has plenty of action going on. Though I like this series one thing I’ve noticed is the prose is stunted. There’s not much “meat” to the scenes other than this happened then this happened then this happened and so on. I wish these stories had more depth though they do provide hours of entertainment.

But When They Come Out I Will Buy Them Anyway This is One Of Two of The Best Books In The Series it's A Tie Between The Two Dead And Gone And Dead To The World

Lots of suspense towards the end. I am also all for Sookie and Eric, so this book suited me well. This was one of my favorites in the series.

This was the last of the love triangle so it was pretty much the last of the suspense, relationship wise, anyway.

I've quite enjoyed the pleasure reads this series had provided and strongly encourage they be read in order. This book felt very familiar as if a combination of Twilight's damsel in distress always the target of the supernatural bad guys and Harry potter's war among the magical. Regardless of it's similarities I get sucked into these page turners and enjoy.
  • Wish this story could go on.

I have read the whole series and I'm so sad that it is over. I though this book was very fast paced and enjoyable.

Sad to say this was the worst of the series that I have read so far. It's like the writer started running out of material and really went to a world of Far Fetched. The others have kept me interested and waiting to buy the next. I had to really buckle down and make myself complete this! I hope the next one is better!!!
