This book seemed to stray too far from the usual cast of characters. Too many peripheral characters and not enough focus on the old characters we know and love.

I like this darker, serious version of Sookie. It's about time, considering her circumstances. I hope she and Claude remain close, and Jason gets some more FaceTime.
  • Beginning of the end

Sad to say this one is the beginning-of-the-end of a great series. Between this one and Dead Reckoning it's time for Bill, Erik or Sookie to jump a shark and let the series receive its final death. Thank you CH but all good things must come to an end. Please let the series die a final death of glory and stop milking it.

  • The worse book in the series

Being a fan of Sookie's books, I found this book the worse. It takes the plot a very long way to develop, so the book tends to get boring and frustrating. It looks like Mrs. Harris tries very hard to cash on a goose that stopped laying the golden eggs. This is a pity.

    Awesome as always!
  • Strong book with mushy finish

I found the book enthralling in many respects. However, I reached the final page and thought 'huh?'... I am used to strong finishes and was disappointed in the dead space left with the conclusion. No thrill or warmth to lead you to the next installment. With only two more books before this series is brought to an end, I hope we are treated to exemplary story lines to finish out Sookie's character.

While I am throughly in love with the series this is least favorite it red like a filler. No real substance. I hope the next one is better
  • Why the 'disappointed' reviews?

The only thing disappointing about this is that it is too short. As an avid reader, I see this book as one to entertain yourself and/or to feed your level of enthusiasm and excitement. It is quite good and I love it! The only thing I am waiting for is the next book. The sipnosys of Dead Reckoning was awesome and I am going to pre-order it soon! I hope is as good as the previous books. :) Love you CH!
  • Better than the last flop!!!!
