Target: Alex Cross
By James Patterson
A killer elite--six assassins--are on the loose. So is Alex Cross.
A leader has fallen, and Alex Cross joins the procession of mourners from Capitol Hill to the White House. Then a sniper's bullet strikes a target in the heart of DC. Alex Cross's wife, Bree Stone, newly elevated chief of DC detectives must solve the case or lose her position. The Secret Service and the FBI deploy as well in the race to find the shooter. Alex is tasked by the new President to lead an investigation unprecedented in scale and scope. But is the sniper's strike only the beginning of a larger attack on the nation?
Not as good as his others3By MandieUSAWhen Patterson writes solely his own book, I cannot stop reading until the end...until this one. I’m making myself finish the book and have yet to feel that electric charge that he has mastered. I am 3/4’s of the way through and could honestly close the book and not finish.
Target5By Dan VermilionI have read many if Patterson’s books and except for a couple that were ghost written, they excellent. This one, however, was outstanding with a fast-moving story and a great ending. Congratulations. Dan
A fun read but beyond belief3By JanehowzeA good beach book. Could not put it down but it is one preposterous killing after another. The story centers on Alex Cross trying to stop five different assassins who have killed the president and others in line to the presidency. It is one f those books you can’t wait to finish but at the end you think “this was one silly and unbelievable book”. There is so much going on today that would make a great basis for the book without stretching the bounds of belief. And stay tuned for sequel. . The book doesn’t resolve all the questions.
