Description
Detective Michael Bennett finally returns to New York City-and to the most unsettling, horrific case of his career in this #1 New York Times bestseller.
At last, Detective Michael Bennett and his family are coming home to New York City. Thanks to Bennett, the ruthless crime lord whose vengeful mission forced the Bennett family into hiding has been brought down for good.
Back in the city that never sleeps, Bennett takes over a chaotic Outreach Squad in Harlem, where he receives an unusual call: a man claims to have seen a group of well-dressed men holding a bizarre party in a condemned building. With no clear crime or evidence, Bennett dismisses the report. But when a charred body is found in that very same building, he is forced to take the demented caller seriously-and is drawn into an underground criminal world of terrifying depravity.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
5By Paver Pete👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻My first read from Patterson's
5By iSamer051188I loved the story, connecting dots, and the way of listing the events. It was kinda hard to put the book aside!Terrible. Cheap shot at best
1By 66+I thought this one of the best M.Bennett books to date until you didn't end it like a real novelist but settled for a cheap "keep them going " to make more money. Are you afraid that you aren't good enough anymore to write and finish what was a good story ? Cheap , cheap , cheap. Brian WeirBurn
3By KansasDirtydogJust a fair book in my mind. Interesting in bringing mike and family back from protection in California. Beyond that just an attempt to put him back to work in New York.. The story was weak and full of holes.Burn
2By Say-Say JaneThe family stuff is a waste of time. I flip through it until I get back to the story line. I doubt I'm the only one.Predictable
2By Jonboy623Well written, however, story line is predictable and mediocre at best.Great until the end.
3By xmuzmanA very compelling read. Especially good if you are already invested in the characters. But the ending is VERY weak. So many open questions and story lines that were just left hanging. I get it that you're going to do a sequel, but first finish the story lines in the current book.Jipped
1By Gameplayer StarI was real excited for this book to finally hit the market. I've been a big James Patterson fan for a real long time. Needless to say I was totally disappointed with the book. To be left hanging again wasn't fair, I guess the bottom line is all that counts. I've preordered the next Alex cross book and I sure hope he's done a better job with that one then he did with this one.Loved it!
5By kwiltshireAs always, James Patterson delivered. I love the Mike Bennett series, as well as all the others. Kept me going through the whole book. And, I loved the ending! Not the best book every written
2By Matt1859This was a mildly entertains read for a transatlantic flightBurn
2By loumarinaTo much family and not enough story actionNo Hate
4By IHateYouJamesIt was alright until the end......Disappointing end
3By FrostingRIt's a quick " Jim Patterson" read. Entertaining through 75%...then all of a sudden! the ends don't connect as well as you hope they would. It's ok, kind of grisly topic, but overall I rated as 3 stars because I expected more of an ending. Am sure the movie will be better.WHAT THE HECK!?!?!
1By L7733Oh my GOD, I could not get past page 30!!! What the heck is going on with this confusing, boring book???.Burn
1By 007@homeI am a HUGE fan of the Michael Bennett series, but I was terribly disappointed with the newest novel, Burn. It was slow from the beginning and went nowhere fast! No where near the quality of mystery and suspense that I am use to reading from the Patterson, Ledwidge team. I would not recommend this book. Please do better next time!Horrible ending
2By JudgeArtIt's like the authors were tired of writing this book and decided to end it quickly. Could have used another couple of chapters to tie up loose ends. In addition ending didn't make much sense. Really enjoyed this book until the end. Felt cheated, and that I wasted my money.
