The Kindred Warrior's Captive Bride...Book 23 in the Kindred Tales Series

Loved that it was multicultural. It never takes long for the story to pick up when I read her book. She has you in the edge of your seat as soon as you start reading and that’s why I read them all AND buy the audiobooks. Can’t wait for this audiobook to come out. I also like the hybrid kindred. The Kindred Warrior’s Captive Bride: A Kindred Tales PLUS Length Novel - Evangeline Anderson This novel might be PLUS size but it was so good I could not put it down and finished it quicker than some novellas. I love the way the author always has MC’s that have obstacles from their past, and present, which they must overcome. Need fix is a Blood/Vision Kindred Warrior who lost his pregnant wife ten years prior. Losing his bond mate crushed him so they he stopped believing in The Goddess. Being a talented navigator he buries himself and his emotions working on a trader ship that sometimes has deals in “somewhat” legal items. He has vowed never to touch or love another he could not deal with the crushing pain ever again and he refused to be susceptible ever again. Lan’ara sells herself as a young teenager to a finishing school “Twyleth Tigg Academy” to be trained as the perfect wife or concubine for rich important buyers. She did this to get money for her widowed mom and four younger brothers to survive. She has a good heart, is smart and brave although the school has trained her to become submissive and meek. She has learned some useful skills such as cooking, etc but yearns to be a free woman one day. Pirates invade the school on graduation day and Lan’ara has been put on a cruel auction block. When Need sees the poor girl being bid on by horrible aliens he tries not to help but when his shipmate a disgusting creature with three heads, he decides to rescue her. Need and Lan’ara have no idea she was injected at her graduation but “Lust Bacterium” to make her the perfect winning female to the Senator she was promised to. When this substance is activated Lan’ara has to have Need help her with the reactions. Need finds himself torn between his vow and growing feelings for Lan’ara. Lan’ara has been forced to do what she can to survive, she’s been traumatized by the whole pirate abduction event. Now she finds her feeling toward Need growing very strong if only he would return them. This small summery is just the overview of an exciting amazing storyline that is about love, the strength to overcome life’s hurdles and the strength to move on and live life in the present. This authors special flair for authors sizzling scenes that fit into the storyline does not disappoint. It was great how the MFC discovered she had so many talents and abilities to help her blossom into the independent woman she longs to become. Need was stubborn but in the end he had to pull himself out of the past and embrace love and the future.
