Nana does it again. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

The author wrote a fantastic sequel to the previous book. The emotional drama continued to engage me as I connected with her situation. I found myself rooting for them as everything became clear. I loved how the author kept the same intensity. Great story.

I just knew this book was going to be good and HOT 🔥🔥. Listen Gwen, I don’t care what Daddy Atticus did, forgive him but make him work for it 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Yall if you haven’t started this series, what are you doing? This series has me in a chokehold and I can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store because Nana is the queen of cliffhangers. The plot is great, the characters are hilarious and very likable, the spice is SPICY, and the twist are brilliant. I really did not see the ending coming.

Atticus. Sigh. He did what he thought he had to do. But, he should’ve known who Gwen was. She is strong and fierce, and I’m so glad she made him work for it. Nevermind Nana trying to kill me with another cliffhanger. Such a great series.

Acquisition is the second book in the Kings of the Boardroom series by Nana Malone. I reviewed the first book, Takeover, several months ago. This book starts a few months after the end of Takeover, when Atticus had broken Gwenyth’s heart and his own in the process. Both were trying to move on without much success. When Atticus realized that there had been several attempts to kill Gwen, he made the decision to get her back. This book is about his efforts to win her back as well as the added elements of romantic suspense that came from the attempts on her life. This book also ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the reader unsure what the couples future will be. This book was really great. The steam between Atticus and Gwen has not diminished since Takeover, and despite her reluctance to ever trust Atticus again, Gwen is as drawn to him as ever. In this novel, a number of characters from several different series make an appearance, and it was fun to have them included. I really enjoyed the romantic suspense aspect added to the story. It turned the series in a different direction than I was expecting, and I always love the unexpected in a genre which can be lovably predictable. I’m not so crazy about the break her heart to protect her trope which was used in the last book, but I do recommend this novel. It could be read as a stand-alone, but a lot of context to the main characters’ relationship would be lost, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
