“Great book. Great series. Best yet” (Morning Joe). Undefeated criminal defense attorney Jane Smith—known as the Hamptons Lawyer—never fails to make her case.
The Hamptons on Long Island is known for its beautiful beaches, its luxury lifestyle—and its exclusive legal advice.
When Jane Smith takes on a famous celebrity client, she’s armed and ready: with brilliant arguments, hard evidence—and two Glocks.
Yet she’s chased down, shot at, and risks contempt of court. That’s when mounting a legal defense turns into self-defense.
Knowing every day in court could be her last, she’s a survivor. For now.

It’s Okay
4By TDaleTJust fair. This co-author with Patterson will never set the world on fire without Patterson’s support. I’ve seen betterNot the best Patterson
2By ChilequileJust never grabbed me. Too many disparate characters and too many corny one-liners. I really tried to stay with it but couldn’t.Lots Of?
3By Dan DailyI have never rated a Patterson book this low before. Kinda slow, hard to follow all the characters, and the end, to me was muddled. The protagonist is despicable
2By WritekidI made the mistake of buying the third book in the series not remembering how much I dislike the first two booksM There’s not a single lack likable character in the entire book, including the very despicable defense attorney This is probably the worst book I’ve ever read I only bought it because I like other books by the second author I hope there will not be a fourth book in the series and I hope that I will not forget how much I dislike the characters that these two authors create and this seriesThe Hampton Lawyers
1By jarf13I did a fast forward to the end and not because I cared about any of the characters except Rip. Not up to par from either of these authors.Ccccccoooommmmeee On
1By FakeApp300Three books to find out what happened to both families. BTW- who killed the mother/daughter combo. Was that supposed to a future frame job too? And the actual killers were such a let down. Whoever the editor(s) is/was for these books needs to do better. The sentence structure is soooo clunky. Way too many characters. Just when you think you know the players more are added to the story. More than half weren’t necessary to move the story forward. And many mistakes in general. Like something being said by Jimmy although the actual conversation is only happening between Rob and Jane. Sloppy work. This rating is reflective of the entire series. I say the entire series for me because at the point I couldn’t care less what happens to Claire, Jimmy, Ben, Jane, mob boss, Rob’s son, the other slimy lawyer, Dr. best friend, sister, Kenny the bartender, Esposito, other cop friends of Jimmy’s, preppy bookie, judge, DA, or the other 60+ characters I’m sure the next book will introduce. I’m done with this series
