5By EtandBdesignsI have throughly enjoyed all of Patricia Briggs books, in both the Alpha and Omega Series, as well as the Mercy Thompson Series. I also enjoy the way she alternated between the two, one year she releases an Alpha Omega book and the next year a Mercy Thompson one.Good but not great
4By Ss0034Not that my review matters... Love this series, love the characters. I’ve bought them all. Somewhere, I think, in the writing, two stories were made into one for this book, and some odd bits were left in that really don’t work with the story and some other bits were done that shouldn’t have. I know that fans know the universe sometimes better than the author because of frequent readings and studying of the books. I think this is one of the those books. Some things in here don’t connect.Worth a Buy

Patricia Briggs keeps you on the edge of your seat with adventure & suspense and opens your heart and mind to life in a werewolf pack. I am a huge fan of Patricia Brigss series, Alpha and Omega & Mercy Thompson. I am thankful for each new book release allowing me a glimpse into the rich characters and their exciting lives. I anxiously await the Mercy Thompson release scheduled for later this year. Thank you Patricia.Love this author but.....
3By GfoudreeThe last few books from this author, of which I’m a huge fan, have been boring. Great storytelling but boring. Not sure if worth the price when others are better for less. Ms. Briggs, we want Conflict and Romance, not a namby pamby story.Awesome

4By MartiJoHawaiiGirlI love the Mercy Thompson series and the Alpha and Omega series. I just finished a three day marathon of re-reading all ten Mercy books. It is stated, sometimes several times in these books, how Bran considers Mercy a “beloved daughter”. Marsilia’s vampire seethe, the fae, and in book ten, the Lord of Night are all told how Bran raised the little coyote pup, Mercy, and how he cares for her as a father and would go to war if she is harmed. The books are fun, the fantasy world of werewolves, fae, vampires and the gutsy walker mechanic is exciting, and the loyalty and integrity of the characters is often admirable. Then the author changes it in Burn Bright. How could this happen??? Anna suggests there’s something funny between Bran, the centuries old Marrok and Mercy. In past books, Samuel, Bran’s oldest son has spoken of Bran and Mercy’s relationship. As an adult, he would have noticed if Bran had romantic feelings for Mercy, but he always said Bran cared for Mercy as a beloved daughter. Now, in this latest book, Charles claims that Bran was “ funny about Mercy, but wouldn’t make a move on Mercy because he wouldn’t cheat on his mate”. Eww! It does not fit. It is a betrayal of the integrity of the series, the integrity of the Marrock, and it is a betrayal to the loyal readers. I hope this is just an aberration and not a preview of future books. The rest of the story was interesting and exciting enough to keep me up all night reading,To Short

This series is easily as good as the Mercy Thompson series,and in some ways the main characters are more fully developed, and seem more real, but unfortunately the Alpha/Omega books seem shorter. Briggs is definitely the master of urban fantasy and I can’t wait for her next novel!The plot twist

It’s so exciting to read more of the back story of some of the other pack members of Bran’s pack and what was the hierarchy beyond the status of just the regular pack members. But the plot twist on how story went was shocking to say the least. Some of the POV switching kind of broke the immersion of it while I was reading but at the same time it was quite refreshing to see what’s going on with the other characters. I went in not knowing exactly what was going to happen and came out think “did that just happen?” It was a bit underwhelming compared to the other books in this series, but it was still definitely a good read if you enjoy this series.
