Description

The daughter of a legend finds the love of a lifetime in this passionate, heart-wrenching installment in J.R. Ward’s #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Nalla, the blooded daughter of Zsadist, has led a sheltered life. Protected by her father and the Brotherhood, kept away from the deadly war with the Lessening Society, she is chafing against the walls of the very safety that has ensured her survival. One night, she gives in to her restlessness…and finds herself face-to-face with a male whose inner darkness rivals even that of her sire’s horrific origins.

Nate is a fighter with nothing to lose—and nothing to live for. Tortured in a human lab as a young, then cursed with immortality, he is all vengeance and no purpose because he cares for no one—not even himself. The Brotherhood knows this all too well and following Nate’s deliberate violation of the cardinal rule in the war, they declare him a dangerous liability that must be dealt with.

When Nalla and Nate find themselves fighting side by side, daggers aren’t the only things that fly. A sizzling attraction is ignited, though Nalla knows her sire will never accept him—and on his side, Nate has made a secret bargain to end his own immortality. As the enemy closes in, and Nalla realizes she must choose between her mate and her sire, what starts with such passion may well end with eternal sorrow and no chance of a reunion—even in the Fade.

Nice to see the younger group and their stories. Can’t wait for Bitty and LW’s story.
  • Total Disappointment

This book felt as if it were written by someone else. I was expecting the same type of excitement as with all of the author’s previous books. It simply fell flat.
  • This series just isn’t the same

I’m sorry but what has happened to these books. So redundant and no creativity in these stories anymore. Find the quality of writing to be sadly lacking to what it use to be.
  • Who wrote this?

I struggle to believe this was penned by the same person as the majority of the other books. It felt disjointed and very hurried. Almost like it was better to publish something than miss a deadline. No real character development. I LOVE this series but this one has given me pause.

Beautiful story of love, loss, grief, and healing. Happy to see the reuniting of the brotherhood. New love awaits.

The writing seemed off. I’ve read all the books in this series. The scenes don’t seem to come to life like they did in some of the earlier books. Some of the intimate scene dialogues were really cringing. Overall the story line is good and enjoy seeing the characters continue to develop. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Another great installment. Loved it. Only complaint is that it was too short. Best series ever.
  • She totally upped her game yet again!

This book has it all!!! Moments that make you laugh out loud (and get side eyed cuz no one got the joke in the room), tears mostly of happiness, struggle and of course all the love!!! The Warden rocked the time jump and Rhage on a cop car giggling will forever be in my heart and mind 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️🐶
