- Genre: Paranormal Romance
Description
J.R. Ward's # 1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood continues as a royal bloodline is compromised by a grave threat to the throne.
Long live the King…
After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father’s mantle--with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything--and everyone--at risk.
Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she’s unprepared for Wrath’s response--or the distance it creates between them.
The question is, will true love win out... or tortured legacy take over?
Reviews
Her best one so far.
5By Zombie slayer 05793Probably her best yet. Less about the lessening society war. This one is heartfelt. You’ll fall in love with Wrath son of Wrath all over again. The Best Book of the Series
5By Josey86This might be the best book so far. The lessers were much less a part of the story. The political intrigue was great. This felt much different to the other novels in the series so far, but it was a lovely change of pace. The books were starting to bleed together. This one absolutely stands out.Wow..
5By Mia12567This might have been my favorite so far.. they are all breathtakingly amazing. The king

5By The 1 & onliAnother great edition to the series, and another great edition to the Brotherhood family (wink wink). This is truly a series I wish wouldn’t ever end!Love the series- BUT not my favorite
3By Willi1pfI love this series! It's world is detailed and captivating with characters that inspire emotional attachment. I'm going to be honest and say that this book wasn't my favorite. I was looking forward to the continuance of the original power couple. The King and Queen that started it all! There were so many different storylines going that we maybe had those characters in play once every three chapters or so. I found myself skimming over a large portion of the book because it wasn't appealing to me or I really wanted to see what was next in a specific storyline and not wait another 50 pages for it.Love your books

5By BLU IDI didn't know what to expect in The King, but wow, it wasn't this story. Guess that's why I read and don't write! I can't say enough about this episode in the BDB, I just didn't want this story to end. I hate that I have to wait for the next one, but at the same time I wouldn't want to have her rush and put out anything less the her best. Thank you J R Ward.Worst
1By Lizzicj1I'm a total fan of the black dagger brotherhood series....with that being said I can say without a shadow of doubt that this book the king was by far the worst! I mean I barely got through it....totally cheesy and boring.... I think that J.R. has run out of options for the brothers.
