Winter in Paradise
By Elin Hilderbrand
A husband's secret life, a wife's new beginning: escape to the Caribbean with #1 New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand.
Irene Steele shares her idyllic life in a beautiful Iowa City Victorian house with a husband who loves her to sky-writing, sentimental extremes. But as she rings in the new year one cold and snowy night, everything she thought she knew falls to pieces with a shocking phone call: her beloved husband, away on business, has been killed in a helicopter crash. Before Irene can even process the news, she must first confront the perplexing details of her husband's death on the distant Caribbean island of St. John.
After Irene and her sons arrive at this faraway paradise, they make yet another shocking discovery: her husband had been living a secret life. As Irene untangles a web of intrigue and deceit, and as she and her sons find themselves drawn into the vibrant island culture, they have to face the truth about their family, and about their own futures.
Rich with the lush beauty of the tropics and the drama, romance, and intrigue only Elin Hilderbrand can deliver, Winter in Paradise is a truly transporting novel, and the exciting start to a new series.
The ending??3By shortblondemommaI wish this book, and the 1st book in this trilogy, would focus a lot more on the crime and a little less on the relationships. The ending is... too much? Of a cliffhanger. Still light, quick reads. Just wish these books had a bit more substance.
Winter paradise5By willieculttI thought it was terrific and so well written. Am getting next book.... first time reading Hildebrand....willieculture
Did the author have to suddenly leave?1By Pdjf hSuch a total waste of time! Author should have spent more time on plot and less time on ridiculous character names. Maybe she would have had enough creative energy to actually finish the story!
Not a complete book3By sflawyermomAs others have commented, this book jumps off a cliff at the end and the only way you can continue reading is to buy the next book. Very annoying. (Next book does just the same thing).
Winter in Paradise5By jeanniepretzI loved this book. Having spent time in the Virgin Islands and on St. John, it brought back fond memories. Oh and just get over the editing. I know there were some errors, but really it was a fun read and I can’t wait for the sequels I also appreciated that the woman wasn’t 30 and had experienced life, but was still portrayed and vibrant attractive. Couldn’t put this down.
Winter in Paradise2By YihooodeeetI just finished this book. Found several grammatical and name errors. The proofreader did not do a good job. Her ending also disappointed, UNLESS it’s the first in a series????
Ugh... AMAZING5By ihatehatinterrelljonesI loved every second... must read!
Winter in Paradise1By Gully's MomBoring, slow and a terrible ending. I have read all this author’s books and enjoyed them. This is a big disappointment.
