By Elin Hilderbrand
The ties between women can run as deep as the ocean--but so can the secrets.
For 20 years, Kayla, Antoinette and Val have performed their own special summer ritual. Once a year, the old friends put aside their daily, separate lives to drink champagne, swap stories and swim naked under the Nantucket stars. But on one of those bonding nights, one of their trio swims out from the shore and doesn't return. After the surviving friends emerge from their grief, they realize that the repercussions of their loss go far beyond their little circle, and they begin to uncover layers of secrets--and their connections to each other--that were never revealed on the beach. What has made their friendship strong now has the power to destroy--their marriages, families, even themselves, in Elin Hilderbrand's Nantucket Nights.
Unreal1By Suze2youLoved a couple of the author's other books, but this book did not reach those heights. Unbelievable story and characters. Not just dissatisfying, but also rather sickening. It's a mucky swamp.
Nantucket Nights1By Work2HardSummer novels are a treat! This one was so bad I am sick from it. Not worth the time or the money. Read it all hoping for some value somewhere - but alas - none! Story stunk - too many holes - lots of filler - and the ending - well it didn't have one. If this is all she had left to tell - time to start another profession!
Sorry, Elin...not my fave3By phimucowgirlI have so enjoyed this author ever since reading Blue Bistro. I've read four since then, and find myself wanting to visit Nantucket. Then I read this book. Too dark and taboo. Bummer. Elin, go back to doing what u were doing well.
Not her best...2By Tucker41I have read 4 of her books. This one, by far, was the worst. I really enjoyed the others but this one was far-fetched and downright silly at times.
Not her best2By Keghop30I thought this was too predictable and I did not like the weakness of one of the main characters. The ending was horrible. I
Unsatisfactory ending4By Pink AmyGreat story, but the ending is unsettling and leaved many questions unanswered. The ending doesn't make much sense.
Good4By justinmsvLoved it the the ending was a little disappointing.
Waste1By CdreviewsThis book was so bad. I will never read another book by this author and I'd like my money back. The plot was a joke and the lead character is a disappointing, vapid disaster. I can't believe that an editor let this book get published! The end was baffling, as was the lead player's use of drugs. Dance away from this listing and buy something else.
Horrible1By C513I have to agree that I not only disliked this book, but I found it disturbing. I'm not even sure why I finished it but I guess I was just hoping it was going to get better. And actually the ending was so bad it made me angry. So the plot was bad and the ending was worse. This was the 1st book I read of hers and it took a lot to convince me to give another book a shot. Don't waste your time or $$ on this one.
Disturbing1By McjillybeanI've read all but one of Hilderbrand's books because they are interesting, light reads that have substance. Typically surprising twists with characters I think I'd like if they were real. Not at all the case with Nantucket Nights. Had this been my first of hers to read I wouldn't have read another. Just creepy characters with a creepy plot. And what was with the B in Cassidy B's name?
