Description
A man with a mysterious past must find a missing teenage girl in this shocking thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Run Away.
Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing.
No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father—with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde—with whom she shares a tragic connection—to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.
Wilde can't ignore an outcast in trouble, but in order to find Naomi he must venture back into the community where he has never fit in, a place where the powerful are protected even when they harbor secrets that could destroy the lives of millions . . . secrets that Wilde must uncover before it's too late.
Reviews
Best book I’ve read in a while!
5By KelpayI was reading all the dystopian novels I could find and started to get bored of the same stories - this book came recommended and it did not disappoint- a great mystery with lots of twists.Hard read
2By MissRx929This book had so many storylines and plot twists it was hard to follow. It didn’t help that the author uses the same names for characters in a lot of his books, making it even harder to remember who’s who. I had to force myself to finish this one, I wanted to give up on it many times.Really great read with lots of twists and turns
5By Emmett48Liked all the characters. But I was disappointed that an innocent man was never freed from jail. Spoiler alertGood story line
3By The Wild FiendThe premise is good but not up to his usual standard. I think I’ve read everything he’s written and this is the only one that is a little weak. I’m going to keep reading him though. The Boy From the Woods
4By TdoweWGood book, but, it left you hanging on a few unresolved issues.Couldn’t put it down
5By weekszmacI couldn’t put this book down! So well written and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very ending.Exciting, but plot too complex to follow
3By Lizzie 6.24.19I enjoyed this book mainly because I had so many complexities in my own life while reading that I could put up with the pretty much indecipherable plot in the book. Harlan Cobden is capable of far better writing than in this book. Skip this, and instead read one of his really well written books.Boy from the Woods
4By YayaNetskiInteresting story with a bit of a twist.Engaging
4By Patsy82Great read, lots of twist and turns to the story plot, rated it 4 stars because I didn’t really like the ending, I felt the book was really good but the ending was a let down. What a Ride!
5By fjcan2When is it right to do the wrong thing? When is it wrong to do the right thing? These are the recurring questions that keep coming at you. Add to this 4 or 5 sub-plots and you have a great book! It’s been a long time since I read a book that keeps on throwing curves at you. All I can say is, “I didn’t see that coming.” I highly recommend this book.
