I loved this book. It was the first book I’ve read in awhile and it really got me back into reading. His books offer an escape! They are much better than the netflix series that have been made though.

When choosing a good story to read, Coben is my go-to. When I saw the fairly inexpensive price tag on this piece, it was a no-brainer. Now that I have finished the story, I cannot say that I would have felt I had gotten my monies worth from it if it had been much higher in price. If you’re looking for a thriller that will immerse you and lead you with a leash to the last page, this is not it. Don’t expect a climax that will have you reeling, nor a fully realized narrative that will have even your subconscious mind invested. As far as Coben goes, this is far from a favorite for me. HOWEVER, that’s not to say this story doesn’t have its place. I awarded it four stars for the simple fact that it is in and of itself, a concrete tale that isn’t hard to follow and has its points of interest. The beginning is enticing, the meat of the plot is heavy with thorough story-telling, and the ending is resolute, if not fairly predictable and underwhelming. Bottom line: Harlan Coben delivers another great story with his distinct style, but in my personal opinion, this one should be put a little further down your list. My suggestions would be ‘Six Years’, ‘Stay Close’, ‘The Stranger’ or ‘Fool Me Once’. While you won’t be disappointed with ‘The Woods’, necessarily, I just don’t think it does Coben’s library justice. If this is your first of his, you’re barely scratching the surface of his amazing linguistic style.

I really like the conversational style of this book. I really got into the characters and felt like i was sitting somewhere hearing a story over a cup of coffee. I thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story

I've never read such an amazing book! I bought it at 12:00 am and I'm ending right now 9:47 pm! The twists and turns try to make you assume things, but don't jump to occlusions because the truth always comes out! Now stop reading this and buy the book!!!!!

Excellent read. Hard to keep up with the twists and turns and "see" the end. I might rate 4 1/2 but couldn't get the half star.

First discovered Harlan Coben when a saw what I thought was a French movie,"Tell No One." Since then, I have read several of his books and intend on reading all of them since he never disappoints with so many twists and turns that keeps you guessing to the very last page. Truly an incredible author and storyteller that will keep you hooked from the very first page. Can't wait for his books to come out and wish they would never end. They would all make wonderful movies.

Just discovered Harlan Coben couple of weeks ago. My first read was Long Lost. Loved that book and was not one bit disappointed in The Woods. Hoben is a very gifted writer and author. His plots are unique and his use of very short chapters is very effective. He develops the characters and give them very definable personalities. I commend him and appreciate so much his lack of profanity in his writing. I find it amazing that as an author he is one of the view who can seem to write a story without the profanity.

Since No Second Chance. Fantastic set up, intriguing characters with complex backgrounds and make ups, and a satisfying ending with very real implications on what tragedy really does to people. Fantastic.
  • Another great mystery/thriller

I've read a couple Harlan Coben books, and like this one, he did an amazing job adding plot twists that I didn't see coming. They are great easy reads that you just cant put down! He does and incredible job bringing it all together in the last couple chapters and this book definitely holds your interest until the very end!
