5By Mommy runnerOMG! This is one of my favorite books EVER! I really didn’t pay any attention to the title… until I did! So many twists and turns in this one! Stunning!!!I feel like a ball in a pinball machine
5By dancin evergreenSo many twists and turns you forget which direction you’re going in. One of his finest works.Speechless!
5By midlotamDon’t know if I could even recount this whole twisted tale to anyone right now. Just finished this thriller after hours of reading almost continuously day and night. Very hard to put down even for a short time. Had not read this author before, but now will seek out his books. What an imagination! Shakespeare was right: “What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.”A real page turner
5By c3333Loved this one! Even though it was pretty evident of the outcome, this story was done very well. Coben has been a favorite of mine for a very long time 😃Good Book
5By readchikcbFor an author's first attempt, this was very good and engaging. Half way through the book I came across an old review where the reviewer swore that Harlan Coben himself said not to read this first attempt and to move on to other books. I had to laugh because that's how secrets were revealed in this novel; half way through. While it is verbose, and the prose - while good - took an ungodly amount of time to get to the point, it was still good. Meanwhile your mind is leaping ahead and you just want to turn the pages to see if you're right. You are right, and at the risk of becoming wordy too, just stick with this Author. Succeeding books get better, and better and better.Play Dead
5By Edward_58Great storyteller- keeps me turning pages!Rather implausible
2By malibueIt was a good read, but the plot was rather implausible.Play Dead
3By AwixaVery confusing at times.Simplistic
2By Whirlymeto the point of being insulting. Poor grammar and a tired theme beat to death and then dragged through every repetitious redundancy of story telling that exists, is what this book delivers. Anyone with half a brain would figure out the obvious perpetrator and next the actual murderer. It was torturous to actually finish this book. You just want it to be over. Don't waste your time or money is my recommendation.Play Dead
5By Miss DoatsI could not put this book down. The author has done an excellent job. I'm looking forward for more reading.Loved it
4By StaceysilvaHave read 3 of Cobens books so far and this is by far my favorite. He's right
1By Your_MotherThis book is.... Not the best...it reads like a romance novel. I really like Coben - this isn't typical. Find another book.Play Dead
2By Hoosier fan#1I love the Myron Bolitar series but the person who read this book was awful. The voices were terrible and not true to the characters personalities at all. I should have read this rather than purchasing it in audio form.Play Dead
5By I'm up reading!Harlan has a mind for suspense. I've read ALL of his books. Don't pay attention to other reviewers that didn't like this book Just ask them to read their books. Harlan is talented. I wish my first book would be this good.Play Dead
5By Working SpyIn the introduction, Coben says this is his very first novel which had not been published until recently - couldn't tell it by me, it was excellent as are all his stories. It did drag in places, but his unique style was evident even back then, like when there were no cells phones...LOL. Worth every penny. ALL HAIL HARLAN!Play dead
4By Crack trivia addictOnly one problem. He never explained the body that was supposed to be David.PLAY DEAD
