Description
Don’t miss the JOE PICKETT series—now streaming on Paramount+
Joe Pickett’s friend’s past comes back to haunt everyone he cares about in this “violent, bloody, and quite satisfying thriller”* from #1 New York Times bestselling author C. J. Box.
In 1995, Nate Romanowski was in a Special Forces unit abroad when his commander, John Nemecek, did something terrible. Now the high-ranking government official and cold-blooded sociopath is determined to eliminate anyone who knows about it—like Nate, who’s hidden himself away in Wyoming’s Bighorn Mountains. And he knows exactly how Nemecek will do it—by targeting Nate's friends to draw him out. That includes his friend, game warden Joe Pickett, and Pickett’s entire family. The only way to fight back is outside the law. Nate knows he can do it, but he isn't sure about his straight-arrow friend. And all their lives could depend on it.

5By Sonnenberg 1Great character development and I love how this author weaves multiple story’s together and then wraps it up in the end. Sometimes a bit slow but I now know after reading a few of CJ Box stories this is where all the clues are! FantasticForce of Nature C.J. Box
5By Wet againNate Romanowski was at one time a member of an extremely elite special forces unit. His commander, the one who recruited him John Nemecek was motivated by other desires as old as time, power, prestige and money. He is a cold blooded sociopath who will eliminate anyone and Nate is in his path. A stupendous read!! Mt highest recommendation!!Awesome

5By Jenny12751I am glad I discovered CJ Box novels. So far I have liked them all !Excellent suspense thriller
5By di pintoIn Force of Nature C.J. Box has written an entertaining fast moving suspense thriller. The book follows suit with the other books in the Joe Pickett series. Pickett, a game warden in a sleepy Wyoming town, has the knack of becoming involved in harrowing events that have nothing to do with wildlife. Somehow, it is fun to suspend belief and enjoy the ride. For a suspense thriller with intrigueing characters, I give it 5 stars. — di pintoForce of Nature

5By Naples FL RealtorI am a Realtorfrom Florida. My vacation times are precious. However we have the privilege of visiting friends who have a ranch outside of Buffalo WY that my husband and I get to go to twice a year. First, we fell in love with the area. THEN I found out about CJ Box and his books. I feel like I'm right there. Even though he writes about Saddlestrings...which is the HF Bar Ranch near our friends and he talks about Area 34, Crazy Woman Canyon and Big Horn Mtns and etc...I can feel everything he writes about and we both love it. We just finished The Highway and I can't wait for my husband to read this one! Whether you have been to Wyoming or not these are great stories but if you have this is Heaven...and yes we did read Blue Heaven.Force of Nature
5By Rough N ReadyExcellent book and excellent author. Only those who know true nature at best and worst will appreciate some of the nuances of this writing. Looking into the eyes of the wild, without bestowing upon it any of our illusions of familiarity, you may begin to sense it's incredible coldness and lack of caring. With the insight of what it really is, you can see its beauty all around you. This is true of the characters portrayed in this book as well the people you know around you. This is the first book of C. J. Box that I have read. It will not be the last. I am thrilled to have found an author who cares enough about what he is writing to actually see it for what it is. 5By Bookish night owlWell, it's 3:30 am and I've just turned the last page of this book. After reading all Box's preceding thrillers I knew better than to let the last half of the book land the evening before a day that required early rising! Definitely another 'can't put it down' suspense and action packed volume that fills in the blanks about Joe's reclusive friend Nate and fills the imagination of the reader with questions about just what could be truth and what could be the author's mastery of fiction in the twists and turns of the plot. I especially enjoy the detailed and accurate descriptions of our life in a state oft referred to as 'a small town with long streets'. My next read might just be The Looming Tower. Read this book and you'll understand why...Force of Nature...
5By RANCHO Pop...Excellent Read...How about a story where Governor Rulan needs help because the POTUS is trying to frame him for murder... ...And of course the only man he can trust is Joe Pickett, and the only Man Joe can trust is of course is Nate Romanowski...etc... .......OK C J BOX...start writing.......etc.......Exceptional Pacing
