Description
Outlaw falconer Nate Romanowski is off the grid and out for revenge in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C. J. Box.
The campaign of destruction that Axel Soledad and Dallas Cates wreaked on Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett left both men in tatters, especially Nate, who lost almost everything. Wondering if the civilized life left him vulnerable to attack, Nate dropped off the grid with his falcons in tow to prepare for vengeance.
When Joe gets a call from the governor asking for help finding his son-in-law, who has gone missing in the Sierra Madre mountain range, he enlists the help of a local, a rookie game warden named Susan Kany.
As Nate and fellow falconer Geronimo Jones circle closer to their prey, Joe and Susan follow the nearly cold trail to Warm Springs. Little do Nate and Joe know that their separate journeys are about to converge . . . at Battle Mountain.
Reviews
They got that Bastard.
5By the greatful readerSometimes a little license to get people on foot miles and miles in a few minutes but it is after all, fiction. I’ve read all the books and I’d like to see more television series, but change Joe’s hat to a black Stetson Buffalo Corral instead of that Silverbelly!Great job!
5By RickylsuWonderful.Sorry I purchased this book
2By Rg110647I have read all the previous C.J. Box books. This was a disappointment and it will make me leery of purchasing any more of his booksBattle Mountain
5By shelby billCan’t wait for another in the series.Fantastic as always
5By PEHowardCJ Box describes the many conflicts between man and beast in a challenging terrain which is yet another force sometimes more perilous than man. His words take the reader from the towns with corrupt sworn officials to the wilderness where the reluctant Joe Pickett stumbles into the middle of another human apex predator plan. Kept waiting for a bear to snack on someone. A girl can dream! One of CJ’s best.
5By Lowry60Revenge for Nate.Better than the last one
5By RrboydivNate ends up with some powers that challenge the imagination — but it’s a good book. Not his best
3By thetnhornersJust couldn’t get into this one. I have read all in the Joe Picket series, have grown to love all these characters. Maybe I just tired of the chaos. The entire Axel books have not enjoyed.Battle Mountain
5By flowerchildntsuCJ Box is the best. Every book with Joe Pickett is the best of all. I have read all of them totally love the series. His other books with different characters are just as good. Not his best and wandering off the right end
4By DWRichardsonSomewhat stilted compared to his other books, and the whole collegiate lefty activist/terrorist thing was less likely than uneducated right wing militias with the same idea.Break action adventure! Thrilling battle scene!
5By Celestial BabeWell worth the read! lots of real time issuesI am filled with drama right up till the end.Battle Mountain
5By Yogish0346Another thriller in beautiful Wyoming! CJ Box does not disappoint! He invited and writes you right into the story!Battle mountain
1By четецI love C. J. Box’ earlier books. Lately, starting with “Long Range”, the plots feel forced, repetitive and boring. The suspense is gone. One always expects the good guys to win, but before this was done in a believable way. I will end the purchases here and will re-read some of the old ones, just to cleanse my palate.Battle mountain
5By g anderson 66Finished a previous book in the series. Very good read. EntertainingBattle Montain

5By AvoiduntilfixedAnother great tale well-told.Finally……
4By Bob852201I’ve read every Pickett book in the series. Battle Mountain took me back to the early books when Box was on his game. Somewhere in the middle, Box got lost; but now he’s back. A good read!
