Description

Sarah J. Maas's sexy, richly imagined series continues with the journey of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can't seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre's Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta's orbit. But her temper isn't the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the Continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance-and healing-in each other's arms.

  • Ending?

Maybe it was how I read it, broken up a lit, but I felt like the ending was an abrupt solution to each problem presented in the book. Like some were so drawn out then completed and solved within a few pages, if not faster.

This book is my favorite out of the series by FAR!! SJM did so well with the character development of Nesta. She went to my least favorite character to my favorite and in my opinion, the best. Nesta’s journey was easy to relate to about depression and having to face one’s own fears. I can’t wait for the next book.
  • Just keep reading it!!!

I found myself hesitant to read this book due to the reviews and how well the author portrayed Nesta as a hateful character in the initial books. The more I read, the more I got hooked!!
  • Sarah, you better keep more books coming.

I didn’t want to finish this book. I cried. So much! Ugh this book is SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!!!! So thankful for how many sexiness this book has. For how much growth and love was in it. It healed me in sooo many ways. I will always have these characters with me. They are part of my life. Ugh I am going to cry again. Please write more books Sarah. One for Az, one for Mor, and one for Tamlin who deserves to grow and heal like Nes did. 🧡

***** SPOILERS AHEAD ****** . . . . . I understand that Nesta had to deal with her feelings of self worth, and used a negative image to push people away. But wow did I get tired of it. It was boring about halfway through the book and annoying after that. I understand that people with these issues don’t just get over things quickly, but it doesn’t make interesting reading, especially for a romantasy. The actual story with the rest of the characters was good, but the constant heaviness was a burden to me as the reader. Also, the wrap up at the end was rapid fire and too pat.
