Description

The fabulously suspenseful and "smashing" (The New York Times Book Review) final novel in the Bill Hodges trilogy from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers!

For nearly six years, in Room 217 of the Lakes Region Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic, Brady Hartsfield has been in a persistent vegetative state. A complete recovery seems unlikely for the insane perpetrator of the “Mercedes Massacre,” in which eight people were killed and many more maimed for life. But behind the vacant stare, Brady is very much awake and aware, having been pumped full of experimental drugs...scheming, biding his time as he trains himself to take full advantage of the deadly new powers that allow him to wreak unimaginable havoc without ever leaving his hospital room. Brady Hartsfield is about to embark on a new reign of terror against thousands of innocents, hell-bent on taking revenge against anyone who crossed his path—with retired police detective Bill Hodges at the very top of that long list....

And the characters feel like old friends after reading the first two. King has been using his power as a famous author to push his agendas-mind numbing phones and internet addiction, liberal leanings and anti Trump rhetoric. Every time I bring these up Apple censors squash it.

I first heard of Bill Hodges when my dad and I watched the Mr. Mercedes series on tv. It was our thing for so long, until the show ended. So when I got back into reading this year, particularly my favorite author, I knew I wanted to read the base trilogy. I lost my dad to cancer last year, and losing the character my dad and I loved together to cancer at the end of a perfectly-wrapped story felt like a full circle moment. This may take the reign as my favorite book by King. I loved it so much.

The use of language, “the voice,” of the this master story teller teleported me into this story for hours. It was an amazing ride. A fitting end to a great trilogy.

This book didn’t have the same feel as the first two in the series, but maybe it wasn’t suppose to have the same feel. I enjoyed the action and the conclusion to the trilogy.

Just started reading on my phone and grateful that I stumbled across this series! Can’t wait to figure out what I will find next.

Got pretty bogged down n the middle although it started fast and ended strong. Mr. Mercedes was the best of the trilogy, End of Watch third place by far.

Good book! Ending was a little rushed and abrupt though…but still a good read!

Great character development, which is one of Stephen kings best talents. I read the whole series and have just one regret. I have finished them.
  • Sorry it ended

OMG never read a S. King book before let alone a trilogy. I adore the way he grows the characters. I miss them already. Coolest part he used my name . I am a Swain.

I was afraid I wasn’t going to like this. From a suspense, catch the killer book, to the killer has supernatural powers now...but I did.

All three books were wonderful to read. I read them at different time in my life, but when the End of Watch came out I had to read the other two before I could read the last one to keep track of the characters in all of the books. Really sad to see Hodges go but it seems like Holly kicks it up a notch. Thank you Mr. King for the wonderful stories.
  • Not as good as the first book. But still 5 star masterpiece

Not as good as the first book that started it all. But still a worthy read. 5 star without a doubt
  • Another one for the highlight reel

I’m the first to admit that I’m not much of a critic. It doesn’t take much to entertain me. Or maybe I’ve been spoiled by over 30 years of excellence from Sai King. The “Bill Hodges Trilogy” is another sample of that excellence. If you’re a fan of Stephen King, you’ll be a fan of this book. Simple as that.

What a whirlwind! Never has a book made me break out in cold sweats and cry at the same time. This was a fantastic yet somber way to end a trilogy.

I wanted to like this one so much. Mr Mercedes and Finders Keepers sucked me into a false world were I didn’t want to do anything but read them. However, end of watch is not good. Hartsfield was once an insane psychopath killer with a absolutely twisted head, and King turned him into a supernatural super villain. Hodges lost his nice personality, and Holly isn’t the same grownup little kid she once was. Mr Mercedes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finders Keepers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ End of Watch ⭐️⭐️

I did not read the prequals to the end of this trilogy. I still found this book very enjoyable and very worthy of 4 stars. I think having read the trilogy in order I would have given this book 5 stars. Great Read.
