Description

FBI Agent Atlee Pine's search for her sister Mercy clashes with military investigator John Puller's high-stakes case, leading them both deep into a global conspiracy -- from which neither of them will escape unscathed.

For many long years, Atlee Pine was tormented by uncertainty after her twin sister, Mercy, was abducted at the age of six and never seen again. Now, just as Atlee is pressured to end her investigation into Mercy's disappearance, she finally gets her most promising breakthrough yet: the identity of her sister's kidnapper, Ito Vincenzo.

With time running out, Atlee and her assistant Carol Blum race to Vincenzo's last known location in Trenton, New Jersey -- and unknowingly stumble straight into John Puller's case, blowing his arrest during a drug ring investigation involving a military installation.

Stunningly, Pine and Puller's joint investigation uncovers a connection between Vincenzo's family and a breathtaking scheme that strikes at the very heart of global democracy. Peeling back the layers of deceit, lies and cover-ups, Atlee finally discovers the truth about what happened to Mercy. And that truth will shock Pine to her very core.

Liked seeing Pine’s character continue to develop as I read Daylight. Even so, the ending was disappointing.

I’ve been waiting on the book and I just finished reading the last page. I have to say that I was speechless by the end! Such a convoluted and twisted story...I needed a scorecard to keep everything in perspective! Wonderful characters and the addition of Jon Puller into the mix was awesome! Thank you, David Baldacci!

Atlee Pine and the Puller brothers in the same thriller. Outstanding from start to finish. The twist at the ending, a horror for Atlee, but well played by Baldacci. Hope we get many more Atlee Pine and John Puller stories.

I’ve been reading the Atlee Pine series from the beginning and I’m so drawn to the mystery surrounding her sister and every book I keep wondering if this is when we get find out what happened. I don’t want to spoil it for you but her sister’s mystery is part of the story. Yay! In this installment there is a crossover when FBI agent Atlee Pine teams up with John Pullover, Army CID. She stumbles across his investigation as she looks into a lead on what happened with her sister. If you aren’t familiar with the series, Atlee is a twin and her sister was abducted when she was six years old. The whereabouts of her sister is still unknown and the abduction understandingly has shaped her life. Atlee and Pullover team up for a wild ride looking into a global crisis. And while that part of the story is fast paced with twists and turns, it was Atlee’s personal journey about her sister that I found most interesting. Baldacci is good at creating complex characters. While this series isn’t his most popular, I like it for the strong female lead and the compelling story.
