By David Baldacci
Detective Amos Decker discovers that a mistake he made as a rookie detective may have led to deadly consequences in this compelling Memory Man thriller by #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci.
Decker is visiting his hometown of Burlington, Ohio, when he's approached by a man named Meryl Hawkins. Hawkins is a convicted murderer. In fact, he's the very first killer Decker ever put behind bars. But he's innocent, he claims. Now suffering from terminal cancer, it's his dying wish that Decker clear his name.
It's unthinkable. The case was open and shut, with rock solid forensic evidence. But then Hawkins later turns up dead with a bullet in his head, and even Decker begins to have doubts. Is it possible that he really did get it wrong, all those years ago?
Decker's determined to uncover the truth, no matter the personal cost. But solving a case this cold may be impossible, especially when it becomes clear that someone doesn't want the old case reopened. Someone who is willing to kill to keep the truth buried, and hide a decades-old secret that may have devastating repercussions....
Redemption1By XzvbngBoring n not believable. Characters too hard to follow. Amos too sorry for himself. Stopped reading after halfway.
Ugh!2By MaryEttaGaIt was a labor to read and must have been laborious to write. On and on and on over the same pitiful “if this and not that.” The written style was more of a made for TV script than sounding like novel. There was no doubt about the tragedy suffered (in a previous novel) by the leading character but did he have to feel sorry for himself through the entire book? Just page after page of too much beating an old dog with no new substance.
Keeps you guessing5By patricknssOne of his best. His stories just keep getting better.
Redemption5By PushpushStableThis is nothing less than brilliant, just as expected from Mr. Baldacci. The rapid paced twists and turns leave the reader wondering where the story will lead next.
Good Read, but long in parts4By Slow ResderThis is a good well written book with a good story land and a good ending. The only negative I have is that one part of the book was a lot longer than necessary. I would expect a lot of people that read Gresham would skip through this section.
Decker is wonderful!!5By likes2walkLoved this book, I could not put it down! Decker’s character grows in this book, emotionally & learning more of his gift/power. He also reflects on his relationships with his friends & those he woks with. Just outstanding book.
Quick read4By SuesNYAt first I was disappointed it seemed a rather short book. But after a while, there probably were no more twist and turns possible. But seeing Amos a little more humanized leads to the question of what’s in the next book. If there is one. I hope so. Had this on preorder.
Another great Amos Decker book5By HandakinaMr B does it again. Great read. Wonderful characters. Intriguing story line. And, most importantly, the psychological transformation of his main guy, Amos Decker. So sit down in your favorite chair and enjoy.

Redemption1By ibookspreferedWorst Balducci book ever. Drones on about minutiae not related to the plot. Boring and disappointing.
