Description

After witnessing a shocking murder, four conspiracy theorists team up with a Secret Service agent to uncover the government corruption that threatens to cause an international terrorism crisis in this New York Times bestselling thriller.

Welcome to THE CAMEL CLUB.

Existing at the fringes of Washington, D.C., the Club consists of four eccentric members. Led by a mysterious man known as "Oliver Stone," they study conspiracy theories, current events, and the machinations of government to discover the "truth" behind the country's actions. Their efforts bear little fruit--until the group witnesses a shocking murder...and becomes embroiled in an astounding, far-reaching conspiracy. Now the Club must join forces with a Secret Service agent to confront one of the most chilling spectacles ever to take place on American soil-an event that may trigger the ultimate war between two different worlds. And all that stands in the way of this apocalypse is five unexpected heroes.

  • Preposterous drivel

Absolutely preposterous story line. Probably skimmed 25% of the book as much of the writing was just useless diatribe that had nothing to do with the story. So the president gets kidnapped and the FBI isn’t involved? Only 3 homeless senior citizens and 2 secret service agents are trying to find the president? Usually like Baldacci, but it seems he was just paid by the word, logic and reason be damned.

I hadn't read a book in several years until a good friend suggested "The Camel Club". From the initial set-up to the unforeseeable ending, Mr. Baldacci does an awesome job of drawing the reader into this world!

A story that could happen with characters that could live next door. A must read for anyone wanting to stroll down roads with people you would like to know in real life.

A little confusing, a lot of characters, a lot of back and forth as to who were the good guys and who were the bad guys, but generally a "keeps your attention" book.

This book was awesome!!! David Baldacchi is an incredible spy thriller writer.. The best I have ever read.. Lots of research done and not a lot of fill in with over-descriptions, like so many other writers....You can't put it down!!! Love The Camel Club Group!!!!!

Juvenile writing. Overly simplistic scenarios. Don't bother. Yawn.

So far, excruciatingly slow to get going. Should have read sample first. My bad. Lee Child,Michael Connelly and Robert Crais blow this author away, but I'll keep trying. Rick-Hollywood
