Description
For twenty-five years the unsolved kidnapping of two young girls has haunted Minneapolis homicide detective Lucas Davenport. Today, the bodies have been found. Today, he returns to a crime—and a nightmare—darker than any before...
A block on the edge of the Minneapolis loop is being razed when a macabre discovery is made: two girls buried under a rotted old house. Lucas Davenport knows how long they’ve been there. In 1985, he was part of the manhunt to track down two kidnapped sisters. They were never found—until today. With the bodies discovered, Davenport has the chance to return to the crime that has haunted him for years. The deeper he probes, the more one thing becomes clear: It wasn't just the bodies that were buried. It was the truth.

5By LOVEABLKWNVery good, as with all of his ‘Prey’ series!Great installment
5By SilasnanaI have loved Lucas Davenport since reading the very first Prey novel. This installment was perfect- a horrendous crime, a crazed killer, moments of humor and hilarious banter, and the constantly working mind of our hero, Davenport. However, the prologue was a wonderful hook, taking all of us back to the beginning days of his career. It was really cool to be with Lucas as he met Del and the rest of the gang. These long term friends are with him until the end of another investigation and their relationship adds a touching element to the story. Prey fans will not be disappointed.A great read!
5By Mackey S.Since I've already read all of the authors current works, I had to dig back some. I really enjoyed the early Davenport. Never have been disappointed with this author. Always looking forward to the next book.Another great book from John Sandford!
5By MysteryFan2000John Sandford is one of my favorite authors. I've read most of his Lucas Davenport books, and it seemed like Lucas was shifting as a character from an investigator to a manager. I was ok with that, because the Virgil Flowers series is also awesome - another great character. But I was happy to pick up this book and find Lucas back in the lead investigator's role. As usual, Sandford created a plot that kept me turning the pages rapidly - and eventually unable to put down the book. I highly recommend it!Buried Prey
5By Great preyVintage Sandford. All the action and immediacy of a "Prey" novel. Great read.Outstanding! (As always)

5By ChainreviewAnother "couldn't put it down" book!A Good One
5By ZonkmanI'll make this short: I've read all the Prey books (many twice) and this is one of the better ones, especially since we get really two stories in one book ( Past and present) tied to one sick, hatable killer. I enjoyed finally getting a glimpse into Lucas's early career and even a tiny bit of his childhood. Quite suspenseful and plausible. Compelling. A great read.Heart pounding
5By Lubi-luThis is a riveting, heart pounding addition to his already great collection. I enjoyed every minute of it and couldn't put it down. My wonky regret is that I read it so fast!Buried Prey
5By ncmikeegI've stopped reading some authors in the past because they get to a point when they write a series where they get lazy in their writing and just depend on past success to sell books. This is not the case with John Sandford. Buried Prey is as good a read as the first books in the Prey series.BURIED PREY
5By GmaDCDJohn Sanford + Lucas Davenport = A good read!Buried Prey
4By Arat2002Quick read, great change in pattern but still Davenport and gang excitement!
