- Eve is the coolest cop- 5 - By JK267 - Eve is so cool, the way she plods through all the evidence to get the culprit. What makes her better than cool is the people she has around her, and the fact that she stands for the victim until the case is resolved. And having Roarke at her side and back certainly makes her special. I have never read an “in death” book I didn’t thoroughly enjoy.
- Passions- 4 - By drs151 - It wasn’t a page turner. Still like all the characters but somehow they are not evolving.
- Just ok. Definitely not a page turner- 2 - By reader198120082012 - I’ve been a fan of the In Death series for more than 20 years. As time has gone by I’m starting to wonder if Nora Roberts is writing this series anymore. The characters have become stagnant. This particular story was weighed down with mundane details and procedural specifics. The interaction between Roark and Eve has become short and repetitive, almost dull. At the end of the day I’m still a fan, but might not continue this series if the over all story line doesn’t improve.
- Flow of the storyline dragged- 2 - By gjb03 - There were some syntax errors (used Shauna when Erin was meant) and the flow was very stilted in the book. There was quite a bit of repetition in the plot that seems absent in the other books of the series.
I love the series and will re read them, but this one was really poorly done.
- Not the best….- 2 - By Mishatx - Started out good and then went downhill. I had to force myself to finish. Very predictable.
- Passions for Ever- 2 - By ElMooon42 - Yes and it takes forever to read this story it a good detective story at all slow horses

- 77% boring, 100% repetitive- 2 - By AGReko - I was tempted to stop reading several times, but wanted to see how bad it could get. Eve repeats the same thing to the same people throughout the book, and nothing happens for 3/4 of it.
I also wonder what the whole “futuristic” time placement adds to this series. The ‘link is a cell phone, the “tube” is a can, the flying cars don’t do anything to add to the story. Just useless gimmicks.
I had read a few of these books, but I’m done now with the “in death” series. You should save your money too
- Passions in Death- 5 - By KathyP58 - As always, great book!
- I loved it!!- 5 - By Q-tip / letty - JD Robb does it again!! I can’t get enough Eve and Peabody!!
I can’t wait for the next one!!
- Passions in Death- 3 - By Judysjems - It was ok. Kind of dragged on some. I’ve read better from this series.
- Underwhelming- 2 - By #wantstoremainafan - As a huge fan of the series for many years, I was disappointed. Most characters in long-running series mature and evolve. In this case the heavy overuse of current slang or jargon felt forced, and immature, for characters that have grown, matured, and developed families. The first half of the book read as if it was written for a text message, without flow, and in an artificially clipped style. Lastly, this book lost the assumption that the reader is somewhat intelligent. Almost like using caricature “POW” comments in a comic book. I hope future books resume the former literary talent.
- i'm sooooo bored- 2 - By RckinRbin - this book is the most boring murder, story, thought and i seriously want my money back
- Tedious- 1 - By Avoiduntilfixed - Tedious. Worst in the Dallas series of which I have read many. No more.
- Passions In Death- 3 - By Boysmumas - Save your money on this book and skip to the next one.
Of all the In Death books I have read, I’ve never skipped so many chapters just to see who did it. I can’t explain how boring this book is, so I’m suggesting you don’t waste your money.
Did J. D. Robb write this book? That should be the title. It didn’t have the feel of the previous In Death books. Too much humor in the first and middle chapters. I can almost see her allowing someone else to write this book since it has all the main characters stuck in it here and there. As I said before you can save your money on this one. I tried to give it 1 star but it wouldn’t allow it. So I’m telling you, this book didn’t measure up to all the previous ones. Plus, it took me 4 days, off and on to even come back and finish it.
- Passions in Death- 2 - By Apedictic - I like the book. Very much in her style. Still can’t get over that D & R only married for 3 years? I want to age like they do, also seems that Coke and Pepsi must be paying JD some money. I hope we don’t see a bunch of other products advertised. It’ll be a little pandering.
- Not her best work….- 3 - By Shoegal00 - Not her best work.
- Passions in death- 1 - By 2000 Random - It was so incomplete with sections that were given no detail. Interviews that were to happen but then forgotten. The story was so drawn out that it was just words filling the pages.I was so disappointed. I have read all the books and this one is definitely not worth reading.
- Boring!- 3 - By CentralCALady - Three hundred pages of dithering and moaning. I loved all previous books in this series. Was this one written by an assistant?
- What happened to JD Robb?- 2 - By Severma22 - Obvious outcome. What happened to plot twists? Where’s the interest? Where’s fleshing other characters, giving the reader something to think about?
Not her best.
