Description
Death imitates art in the brand-new crime thriller starring homicide cop Eve Dallas from the #1 New York Times-bestselling author J.D. Robb.
Manhattan is filled with galleries and deep-pocketed collectors who can make an artist's career with a wave of a hand. But one man toils in obscurity, his brilliance unrecognized while lesser talents bask in the glory he believes should be his. Come tomorrow, he vows, the city will be buzzing about his work.
Indeed, before dawn, Lt. Eve Dallas is speeding toward the home of the two gallery owners whose doorway has been turned into a horrifying crime scene overnight. A lifeless young woman has been elaborately costumed and precisely posed to resemble the model of a long-ago Dutch master, and Dallas plunges into her investigation.
Reviews
Incomprehensible
1By bu stu100% unreadable. Nothing about this book or its characters made any sense to me—absolutely terrible. Giving it 1 star is much too generousIt’s Eve Dallas
2By Ms1cebergThe ending of this book is the best part. I miss the angst and desperate connection of Eve making and creating a family. That part is an afterthought now. Before, in previous books it made the case she was solving much more…everything. They connected and made her sacrifices for the job more emotional. Turning her into a cop that solves murders isn’t as interesting when you’ve read the entire series. Bring back the real Eve Dallas, not this alter-persona . No, I don’t mean revisit her trauma. I mean bring back the one that makes you feel what she’s feeling, makes you wish for a Roarke and Peabody and all the family she created. Bring back the Eve that had to feel a case to solve it, not just connect the dots and follow the bread crumbs. The earlier books in the series are books I would read again and again. This one, not even once more.Great read.
5By Carol PruchnicI have read the entire series. I loved them all.Excellent
5By WGCJrAnother great tale well told.Series becoming mundane
3By rpbumI have loved this series for years and read every book, some more than once. They are becoming predictable and boring. In Death Series
5By Zombeebug3I am one of many fans of the “In Death” series. Each book becomes more interesting and expands on the main characters. Rourke and Eve, the couple who survived and rose above the storm life threw at them. Can’t wait fore the next book. Truth prevails.Another great read
5By Rose budieLoved how every bit of evidence brought them closer to the killer.Great Read!
5By Shoegal00This was by far one of the best books. I really did enjoy the ending.Great Read

5By ChictrixComing back to Eve, Roarke, Peabody and the entire crew is like coming home. The story was riveting, had to finish. But the characters are the best!Excellent Read!
5By NanaKris1953&Great characters as always and expanding on roles.Wish she would develop more chapters in this series.
4By kamichamGood writing, okay plot, interviews with murderer and abettors too simple and somewhat of a letdown.Riveting
5By Rocky a y7A riveting read as always, totally enjoyable on every levelGreat as always, but…
5By Chief -The long-running In Death series can be a bit formulaic, but this story takes a turn that provides an interesting departure from the usual. It was a nice, fresh change. The Hits just keep coming!
5By Katie girl greenOnce again Robb knocks it out of the park! Pre-ordered and started reading the minute it landed on my e-book. Grabbed by the immediate use of the killers account/view of the first murder …Couldn’t put it down, finished in one night. Smooth character building…gradual and ever increasing plot tension and then BAM, locks it down. LT at her finest. Love the updates on the “personal” side of all the characters. The banter, ongoing pet peeves, idiosyncrasies, the camaraderie. They are all still growing and evolving bringing newness to each character and their interactions in every new book. All done without detracting from, or diluting the plot of another great …….”In Death”. And as always…just the right amount of heat from Roark and Dallas.
